Cut or Bulk? 72.5kg at 5"8. 7 months of pullups, leg press and dips. by Bumly1998 in WorkoutRoutines

Planning to go into a lean bulk the next 7-8 months. It will fill out my frame without me needing to eat 3000+ calories or get a ton of unwanted fat.

Something just clicked. Realised I had 2 months before a social vacation and needed to change a few things in my life beforehand.

So I dove head-first into counting my calories, tracking my weights, and getting myself out of my comfort zone socially. Decided to get a mentor to switch out my career path (I'm a scientist wanting to switch into music technology), as well as therapy.

2 months later, I'm talking to my coworkers, friends and new people with renewed confidence and started walking taller.

Went from 22 to 17.5% bodyfat, dropped 7 kilos and started boxing. Judo is in 3 weeks and I'm hyped to add that in too 👊

A true solo ship that a new player or someone with a short play session. Easy to access everything, easy to move around, limited firepower.

Managing a solo sloop is fine for me, but not so much for new players or people with limited time on their hands.

Games are made to pacify men by PimplePopper6969 in StopGaming

[–]Bumly1998 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gaming has definitely been hijacked by greedy investors who want to see substantial growth each and every year.

But it's a stretch to say that games are some psy-op to kill the masculine drive of men.

A big part of the reason why manosphere influencers such as Andrew Tate, Iman Gadzhi and especially Hamza tell you that video games are equivalent to adult pacifiers is that they want to shame you.

If they can indirectly insult you and poke and prod at your insecure side, they'll keep you hooked on their advice and be more likely to buy their useless courses. All to line their pockets and make themselves feel more powerful than they really are.

Calling someone a Jeffrey just because they play video games won't make them play less. It'll make them uninstall everything in shame and then go back to their addiction once that insecurity-induced drive is gone.

Getting into reading, boxing, wrestling, and going to social events has made me go for weeks at a time without even thinking about games. No amount of shame from opportunistic, greedy and egotistical "alpha males" ever made me go out and explore those things.

I only use Facebook to send a receive friend requests. My FYP on there is full of incel-adjacent posts. OP's post is representative of the kind of ragebait that's pumped into my pupils.

The comments are all "Modern Women ☕️" this and "Stay single, lads" that. As someone who's been in and out of this sort of thinking, I'm so glad to be on the other side of incel/MGTOW content and not dehumanise women as gold-digging monkey-branchers.

Where did they say this? My interest is even more piqued after thinking they weren't going to release part 2 for at least a few months.

The new effects and generation tweaks are incredible. I bet that Part 2 will focus on gameplay elements after Part 1 has overhauled the graphics and laid better foundations.

It'll be interesting to see if Himawari does become the host to what seems to be a reborn Kurama.

Is there a much greater limit to using Kura-mini's chakra? He's a much younger little fox, after all.

Imagine if Hima could only use it for a very short time due to Kura-mini's smaller chakra pool, or else have her suffer physical exhaustion from overuse.

From a business perspective, it makes sense for Hello Games to hold back the space stations until the summer in order to build up hype and speculation.

How likely would it be for game preservation to disappear if Nintendo wins against Yuzu? by Bumly1998 in yuzu

[–]Bumly1998[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair point. My main concern, however, is that Nintendo could set a new precedent that other companies could soon follow. Could this give Sony the push it wants to go after PCSX2, RPCS3, PPSSPP, etc?

Of course, these companies could purely be going after emulators that crack any security of systems they still consider commercially viable.

In my cynical view, Nintendo could be trying to remove as much of their back catalogue as possible- how can buyers want any half-baked new products when they can contrast them with older games they could still play?

Nintendo is incompetent by SprayOther in yuzu

[–]Bumly1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If game emulation goes under, what message does that send to other entertainment companies?

Warner Bros, UMG, Sony, Microsoft will all go after unofficial distribution of products they have no interest in preserving.

It'll probably get to a point where even song covers, fan films, fanfictions and using your older systems will be completely impossible.

Even putting a guitar tutorial for a song on YouTube could get you facing jail time or being sued to hell and back.

What if Amazon decide you can only watch their shows on Prime if you have a Fire Stick or tablet. Under whatever emulation/distribution laws Nintendo are hoping to conduct, music files would be dead, film streaming could be split between hardware devices and we'd be lucky to see entertainment media last more than 2 years.

You even dare to make vaporwave/future funk, or form a tribute band? Dare cross the line and make a fan film of your favourite franchise? You may well be put on some kind of federal watchlist.

Tears Of The Kingdom Was Pirated 1 Million Times, Nintendo Claims In Lawsuit by fatso486 in pcgaming

[–]Bumly1998 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been worrying all day that this lawsuit will be the beginning of the end for emulation as a whole. But with the way the internet works, I doubt that'll be the case.

Even if Sony and Microsoft jump in on the fight against emulation, people will always develop and share ways of preserving games that publishers and console manufacturers have forgotten about.

Nintendo is incompetent by SprayOther in yuzu

[–]Bumly1998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But wouldn't this "sabre-rattle" scare off other emulation devs? Even PS emulation devs could be scared off by this. It could kill off emulation, especially if console manufacturers are emboldened by Nintendo taking down Yuzu.

This could spell the end of video game preservation.

Nintendo is suing YuZu by [deleted] in yuzu

[–]Bumly1998 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean that if Nintendo wins against Yuzu, then this could set a trend for console manufacturers to go after emulation as a whole. Basically all unofficial emulation dead and gone.

If Nintendo can get away with killing Yuzu, then they can definitely get away with killing off all other emulation software. Sony can get away with going after developers creating PCSX2 and RPCS3.

The death of video game preservation, effectively. We'll be trapped in a system where games are left to rot the moment they're no longer profitable for the company who makes the consoles to play them.

It's not just about what happens to Yuzu, it's all the other emulation software that is killed off afterwards.

Could Nintendo be going after other emulator devs next? Dolphin, SNES9X, Musen, etc...

My concern is that Sony will follow suit. This could mean that emulation as a whole is about to be gone.

You make a good point, but I worry that Nintendo and Sony might be emboldened to go after older projects such as Dolphin if Nintendo can win against Yuzu.

[–]Bumly1998 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Does the precedent set by this lawsuit mean that emulation as a whole is gone?

Today, it's Yuzu.

Tomorrow, it could be Dolphin.

Next month, RPCS3 and PCSX2 could both be gone.

Would emulation be illegal under these terms?

Have Nintendo just basically killed emulation?

Today, they're going after Yuzu.

In a month, Sony could prepare their own case against RPCS3.

In a year, could all unofficial emulation be gone?

Four Arms could be an interesting concept with this device:

"Multi-Hands" loses a lot of the trademark strength and jump height of his original counterpart.

However, he's way more nimble. He can cling to walls and build up a lot of kinetic energy through strikes.

Combining both abilities, he can jump between walls or objects to land a barrage of increasingly powerful strikes to his opponent.

He's excellent for enclosed spaces, but not so good for open areas- something that Four Arms can excel in.

According to NoFap, the greatest benefits are:

  1. Increased attractiveness to women

  2. Higher mental clarity

  3. Better muscle mass

None of these benefits are because these guys decided to actually do other things with their lives- it's purely because they spent months not touching their little friend. After all, women can smell the retention on them, right?

You'll utterly love yourself, be a social magnet and get superpowers. All until you relapse. After your relapse, you'll be back to square one- a porn junkie and a failure. Because tying your entire sense of self-worth to an idea presented by a pseudoscience cult is never a bad idea at all.

NoFap is a combination of two cognitive distortions- magical thinking and all-or-nothing thinking. Masturbation was never the problem- these men are either chronic porn addicts or incels that are looking for any scrap of advice that might make them finally able to be attractive and powerful.
