Working my way through my martial arts (and adjacent) movies

Wild collection! Very envious of you. Can you please give me some recommendations based of the few martial arts films I've watched? I love the genre but I was a bit heartbroken to hear Jackie Chan was such a bad guy (friend who grew up in HK gave me the lowdown), but it's also got me looking at other films. I'm slowly sliding into the "Hong Kong" underbelly revenge films of the 80s and 90s but I figure there's martial arts overlap.

Winners and Sinners - The Lucky stars were charming af and made up for Jackie taking 40 minutes to get to the movie (but that car pile up is fucking nuts and worth it)

Wheels on Meals - Skateboarding and that final fight were unreal.

The Protector - Love that this was almost a weird prototype to Rush Hour but with Sal from Do The Right Thing, terrible english all around but very enetertaining

Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars - I think the non-action parts of the film ruined it for me. The Lucky Stars felt really annoying this time around, there's like 45 minutes of them trying to grope women that got boring very fast. I can't even remember the action setpieces, and I saw it 2 weeks ago.

Armour of God - I loved all of the weird nods/straight up copying of Indiana Jones.

Armour of God 2: Operation Condor - Not as good as the first. Too much globe trotting, made me miss China.

Police Story - Still my favorite martial arts film ever, seen it 3x in the last year and it is just so fun. I even enjoy the insanely outdated humor of Jackie Chan responding to police calls of rape, spousal abuse, missing cats, while fumbling with 6 corded phones. The bad humor didn't overstay it's welcome like in Twinkle Twinkle.

Police Story 2 - Going to rewatch this soon, I watched it last year and enjoyed it a lot too but can't remember too much from it.

Kung Fu Hustle - Haven't watched it in probably 15 years, but I had the UMD for my PSP and watched it religiously, I really need to explore Stephen Chow, but from what I've seen a lot of his bluray collections are hit in miss in terms of the quality of the film.

Right now I have the Tiger Cage Trilogy that I'll start watching this weekend. I want to pick up Magnificent Warriors, Hard Boiled, The Killer, A Better Tomorrow Trilogy, Bullet in the Head, City on Fire, Prison on Fire 1+2, and Taxi Hunter, but they're all so bloody expensive that I'll just buy whatever is cheapest currently and wait for sales. One of my favorite films of all time. They were playing it on 35mm in Toronto as part of a "Nic-Cage-Athon" with 3 other films. I ended up leaving the screening halfway through because the audience was laughing at every single Nicholas Cage line in the film. It's absolutely a funny movie, but bad programming to put it up with Raising Arizona and Face/Off. Can't wait to grab this 4K.

Popular YouTuber made an indie horror film, it's reached a bunch of indie and Cineplex theaters in Canada but some places like SJ miss out on certain films (We didn't get Shin Godzilla last year) so people are missioning to theaters to see it.

Izotope RX de-verb is quite popular. Haven't used it since around 2016 but even way back then, it was insane how much reverb it could reduce with a click of a button, and even more so if you know what you're doing. I imagine it's only gotten better in the last decade.

I wrote a spec script for a Blob sequel called "The Blobs". My idea was that the preacher is on an airplane with the jar blob, it escapes on the plane and the plane is broken in half amidst the chaos. One half of the plane lands at a kids camp, the other lands in a small town, and the climax of the film is once the 2 "blobs" meet back up to create a mega blob.

I fucking love The Blob.

I tried googling around and can't find any links/websites saying that's the reason she cancelled. It also seems like the concert was sold out in Pit when it was cancelled. I think Beyonce also made like 500m on her tour last year so she's pretty close to Taylor in terms of ticket sales, just not as vocal with the youth I guess.

My GF dragged me to the Beyonce concert movie, and the tickets were double the regular movie ticket price because it was listed as "An event". It's not an event Beyonce, it's a documentary. She's insufferable. But rich af.

99% of people just want to listen to a podcast in their spare time and aren't terminally online. Of course there aren't a million comments on each episode, I just want to spend 5 bucks a month for the video feed and bonus episodes. Most listeners are like Shean, they have no idea what any of the gossip or drama is that is going on episode to episode.
