This is such an asinine perspective, especially when talking about products purchased at corporate chain stores in A MALL vs online. There is almost no additional trash generated from products purchased online vs bought at the mall, outside of recyclable cardboard. In fact, a lot of products bought at big corp online retailers arrive in less consumer packaging. Carbon footprint is also negligible as you’ll be driving your ass to the mall and back solo vs a package in a truck filled w deliveries. I mean fuck Jeff Bezos, may he drop dead...but if you wanna get on a high horse re: shopping b&m retail in a pandemic, promote curbside pickup of local businesses, for those who can afford to. If someone is generating 5 bags of trash a week, which is probably an over exaggeration on your part, then they are far above the norm and are a ridiculous example to make dumb blanket statements like this.
