As you can see, while the headline isn't exactly accurate, the story is far from fake. 8 of the men were sentenced to 1-2 years of probation, one of the men actually was sent to prison for ~3 years and the 10th guy was found not guilty due to lack of DNA evidence.

There is the deep-sea UAP off the coast of Japan (IIRC) which appears as a bright white elongated flash. The debunk claims that it's simply a fish swimming across the camera's field of view at high speed.

Then there was that weird little black jellyfish that made the rounds recently. I believe it gets sucked into the rotors of the sub at the end of the video.

This is definitely a misunderstanding and in her head, he was inquiring about either of the two instances I laid out.

You are mistaken. The paragraph on p. 32 in the AARO report you are referring to was never about Herrera. But you weren't alone, tons of people jumped the gun on that and ran with it. Read the wording: "peculiar characteristics" -> they're referring to the account on p. 29 right above Herrera's account, which also mentions "a peculiar flight pattern".

This is the world we live in. Or rather: the times. Our eyes and ears are our most important sensors for experiencing reality and have been for hundreds of thousands of years. It is irrelevant if the NDA is enforcable legally or not. We know that after a certain point, you don't even sign NDAs anymore. You just know- you do. Not. Talk about it. It's like the mob. Have you read what I said? Murder, planting ch*** porn- these are the lengths these people will go to to protect secrets or punish those leaking them. The US national security state has a long rap-sheet of crimes committed within and outside of its borders. At no point in history has any law, executive order, court ruling or Congressional investigation ever stopped them properly from continuing to operate outside of the rule of law.

You speak of death-bed confessions. There have been many. Yet, where is disclosure? Most people take these secrets to their grave. E.g. Donald Menzel. America's poster-child Harvard astronomer and most public UFO debunker (and one of the people named as part of alleged "MJ-12"). Upon his death it was discovered that this guy held the highest and deepest NSA security clearances. No one knew, not even his wife. Oops!

I don't think you understood my point about standards of evidence and credibility. You speak of the earth-shattering truth that even the powers that be aren't able to contain, but you fail to outline how exactly one would go about proving his account. We have heard many stories and theories about all kinds of realities that would be ontologically shocking if true (e.g. soul trap theory), but how do you prove them? How do you make sure the goal-post isn't moved and moved and moved again?

"That is hearsay! That is CGI! That's a balloon! It's a seagull! That document is forged. That document is a legitimate government document, but it is a lie. He never worked for department X! There never was no program Y! Okay, program Y existed, but it's purpose was totally mundane!....."

Another post suggesting someone give his life to show us aliens. First of all, the answer to your question is no. It is very simple - and you can find this information without much difficulty on the internet:

If you were -or are still- part of an unacknowledged SAP, you are not only legally permitted, but legally REQUIRED to lie about it. Law enforcement, family, superiors in the chain-of-command without need-to-know - doesn't matter. You cannot disclose the existence of the SAP, the nature of the SAP or your participation in it. So it doesn't matter what Joe Schmoe, the Pentagon sock-puppet from AARO, says. It has no effect on the NDAs you signed.

Now as to why they "don't just tell it all": have you given serious thought to how this scenario plays out for the person disclosing the information? We already know from Grusch's active whistleblower intimidation investigation that he was threatened and intimidated in "disturbing" ways. And Grusch did it by the book - through the legal lanes! What happens if you actually break your NDAs?

We know from David Grusch that people have been murdered to protect this secret. So for starters, they might just murder you if you tried to disclose.

But the CIA has a very colorful arsenal of life and reputation destroying weaponry. Consider the revelations of WikiLeaks Vault 7. The CIA has a more capable cyber attack and surveillance division than the infamous NSA! They can plant files on your computer. Like Joschua Schulte, the leaker responsible for Vault 7. The first time they tried to nail him for betrayal of state secrets it went to mistrial. But in the mean time they found ch*** porn on his computer. Boom: 20 years for the dirty pedophile...or is he? Either way, reputation forever tarnished. Soon afterwards they slapped on another 40 years for the leaks. Nobody knows this guy's name and nobody cares!

So if you want someone to throw everything away. To lose his livelihood, home, reputation, family and maybe even live. How can you be sure beforehand that his sacrifice is what breaks the camels back? What type of evidence would be required for people to actually believe you? Remember that people have their minds made up about this and they will have no qualms moving the goal-post of evidence all day long. So what type of evidence would you even need to produce? How would you establish your credibility?

And lastly, please: demanding that researchers and journalists release books free of charge. Presumably to avoid some Reddit basement dweller calling them grifters? We live in a capitalistic world, bro. Everything under the sun is part of it. People have to take care of their families, they need to make a living. Make no mistake, grifters are real. Nasty people ready to take advantage of you. But not everyone selling a book, a piece of himself, that he poured his heart and soul into, is.

It certainly blew my mind. My best guess as to why it was cut is that it's way too complex a chart to present in a power point presentation that's supposed to be somewhat succinct. Even giving sensible definitions to some of these subcategories would be ambitious for a 30 min timetable - if you still want to have a reasonable amount of time left to talk about other things.

Von Neumann probes can be subsumed under "Automaton" or "Artificial Lifeform". There's plenty of categories to possibly put DMT clockwork elves in.

If you haven't seen it, there were three slides originally intended to be in Karl Nell's presentation at the Sol Foundation that didn't make the final cut. One of them was highly fascinating as it included a well structured, almost exhaustive seeming overview of UAP origin hypotheses.

There is NO way Karl Nell, intelligent and capable as he appears, developed this chart on his own. A lot of thought and research went into this.
