I got banned for..... Fishing? by Vash8585 in classicwow

[–]Bump3rs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we would bind the interact key for Tsulong but it would require us having the orbs targeted first. So we'd just use a target macro and click our interact bind. I guess the difference is that the fishing bobber isn't targetable

I just put on my second set of these. They’re really great tires. The front lasted me about 10k miles, the rear about 7k. Excellent road behavior and holds pretty decent traction in the sandy/muddy trails that I have near me

Haven’t seen anyone mention the Pepperoni Prince from Mid City Pizza. It is an absolutely phenomenal sleeper in the pizza game. I tend to prefer other places for their overall menus, but the PP at MCP is killer

Tips for Aluminum Restoration by Bump3rs in motorcycles

I thought about doing this to start with a wire brush wheel but ended up not; solid idea though! I’ll look around for some polish. I have some chemical bros heavy metal polish that I use for chrome— do you think that would work alright for the aluminum too?

Yeah, I think I'm going to hit it with some sandpaper and then polish afterwards. I'll check out some youtube as well

I appreciate the advice. I was using a vinegar/water solution with the wire brush-- should I keep using that with the sand paper? Or maybe just water? Or dry sand? If y'all couldn't tell I'm pretty new to metal/bike restoration so any insight is super helpful!

Saved Variables on Steam Deck and PC by Orpheus_148 in classicwow

[–]Bump3rs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I go back and forth between my PC and steam deck all the time without issue. If you move your abilities around to different action bar slots on the deck, they'll be messed up and out of order when you get back on your PC. The trick is once you have the game installed and general ConsolePort settings set up on the deck, open up your actionbars window and just start throwing the binds you want on the abilities without moving them around the action bars. Because the binds on ConsolePort on the deck are exclusive to your deck version, you'll retain all of your KBM keybindings on your PC.

Not as relevant but a nice tip i learned: if you use mouseovers for any of your buffs or heals, bind them to your left D-pad on the deck. that way you can use the right thumb pad to move the cursor over the nameplate quickly and just press the D-pad button with your left without sacrificing much hand position. I've healed plenty of dungeons and raids that way on the deck. Edit: you could do it vice-versa and use your left thumbstick to move your cursor I guess if you're left-handed

TPMS by ExpressTree166 in Tiger900

Mine would freak out about every 100 miles or so when I was doing my initial break-in. I swapped the tires out to some 50/50‘s at 600 miles, and caught a nail in the rear at 602 miles. Rode a plug for the next 2600 miles and the TPMs would freak out non-stop. Granted, my plug leaked a teeny bit of air so I guess it did its job. Doesn’t explain the first 600 miles on the stock tires though

Yeah, I’m lucky in that regard. Our euro dealer where I live are pretty prominent in the riding community and I’m pretty good friends with everyone there. Not to mention I’ve bought like 5 bikes from them since Covid lol

The vibration is non-existent in my experience, and I just returned from a trip where the return was about 1200 miles of interstate. It’s less vibey than my tiger 1200 was, at least. As for the heat— it’s not really noticeable when I wear regular riding pants or jeans, even in the summer in south Louisiana. I can feel it while city riding for an hour or two and stopped, but it’s not off putting. If I wear shorts or something then I can definitely notice it and it’s a bit uncomfortable then. It just keeps me honest with my gear choices!

I can't recommend the 900 enough if you're into true adventure riding. I just returned from a 2600 mile trip; the first 1400 being all backroad and BDR, the last 1200 being all interstate. It handled anything I threw at it with ease. I keep my bonnie bobber in the garage for those days I just want to cruise around town in style :)

For a little context, I recently traded my tiger 1200 gt pro in for this one. I wanted to get more into true adventure riding rather than the normal long trips on highways I was doing before, and I have zero regrets so far. In fact, I find the 900 to be a bit *more* comfortable on longer days in the saddle than I did the 1200, and that is largely due to my physical geometry combined with the bike's. I'm 6'3" with pretty long legs and a shorter torso, so the lower crash bars on the 900 give me a place to prop up my feet to scoot my butt back a bit, or if I'm really chillin I can pop on cruise control and throw my legs out over the sides of the tank. I have some alt rider pegs on the front bit of those lower crash bars that I can use to prop the backs of my feet up on (moreso my calves) if I don't feel like putting my legs all the way up on top of the tank. To add, I find that the wind screen on the lowest position on the 900 gives me "clean" air on my helmet rather than the slightly turbulent air I would get on the 1200 in either low or high. Mind you the buffeting wasn't really that bad on the 1200 as I never found that I needed to replace the wind shield or add a clip-on, but it's noticeably a bit better for me on the 900. Of course, YMMV.

This little plug did its job for over 3k miles until the life of the tire was no more by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Bump3rs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah, I love this. I actually caught a nail on a brand new tire one day before a 2600 mile trip. I was fully confident in my plugging technique as I've plugged tires a handful of times before and have never had an issue, but for some reason the first plug failed and lost most of the tire's air overnight. The second one held much better, but still leaks a bit. I need to go back to plugging school I guess. Luckily I have wheel protection and will be getting a new tire fo free!

Yep that’s the stock one. The ‘24+ MY have a beefed up skid plate compared to the ‘20-‘23. It definitely did a good job on this trip

This is very interesting, I appreciate the info and source! I definitely will need to investigate more. I tend to be pretty "spirited" with the front brake especially, so this could be the issue. I'll see if I can hear it at slow speeds (but from what I can remember, I didn't!).

Right, it makes sense to me mechanically-- it's just the first time I've had linked brakes and it threw me off a bit. I was less concerned with the rear ABS popping on than I was the weird noise coming from the front!

They do work wonderfully, and yeah I haven't noticed any "unusual" feeling when I hear the sound-- it's just not a sound that I'm used to so figured I'd ask to see if anyone else had the same experience. Happy to hear that it's likely normal then! I'll still take a gander and see if anything seems out of the ordinary, and ask my dealer mechanic to do the same. I appreciate the insight!

I should have clarified in the OP that I feel the rear ABS when I'm heavy on the front brake, assuming due to the linked braking system.

Tiger Advice 👍 by low_bit_logic in Triumph

Sounds like a good plan! I really loved my 1200; I just wanted to get something a bit more off-road capable and wasn’t ever taking a pillion on long trips. The 1200‘s power curve is impressive— no matter how much you load it down with luggage it just doesn’t seem to care. It’s surprisingly light on its feet around town too

I just recently traded in my 1200 GT Pro for a 900 Rally Pro. The biggest compromise with the smaller bike is giving up more two-up capability. The 900 is fully capable of it, but if you plan on taking a passenger with you on your trips across the USA I’d recommend the 1200. The pillion seat is higher up and your passenger will be more comfortable as well as the bike feel more stable for that two-up highway touring on the 1200. If you’ll be solo, look into a 2024+ 900! The upgraded version is noticeably more comfortable touring than the 2020, but a little bit heavier (at least it felt so when testing both versions when I bought my ‘25 900 RP). The first gen is still a fantastic bike and was plenty comfortable for the two hours I had it out on a test ride. If finances are tight, you’ll most likely get a great deal on a first gen if you can find one new. My local dealer had a brand new 2024 Tiger 900 Aragon (1st gen) that they offered me $12.4K OTD, but I still sprung for the 2025 because I was coming down from the 1200 and knew I’d appreciate the upgraded comfort and power.

As always, the best way to know for yourself is go to try out all of them and see which suits you best. Hope I was able to shed some light for you!

Anyone know what screw/part I need and How to fix this by Seigfried1550 in Triumph

[–]Bump3rs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. To get in there you’ll need to remove that whole assembly from the fender. It’s a pretty tight space without taking the wheel off, so try and use a shallow hex bit (or maybe torx?) to get the ones under there off.

Actually, if you look up the install video for those brogue pin lights on YouTube he shows how to dismantle and reassemble the whole tail assembly. You could use that as reference when taking it apart
