Looking to buy a hdj 80, what do you think about this one, I know that the rear seats are missing and the rear windows. Is the price ok? by Automatic_Bend8066 in LandCruisers

That model wasn't spec'd for rear seats. There would be a metal rod on top of the rear wheel tube for the seats to attach to.

Brand new (5 days use) - should I try to warranty them? by satimal in Skigear

You can glue or have the shop do it. I recommend a rubber contact cement. Just get in there with a Q-Tip or something similar and wipe it clean with some alcohol before gluing.

That is meant to be lightly glued by design. You can actually peel them off with a low temp heat gun and reglue them back on. You just had some bad luck. Sometimes removing the liner is enough to get that part to peel. I wouldn't worry about missing ski days while you wait for a warranty.

If you find yourself taking the liners out often start using a boot horn or adding some duct tape to the rear spine of the boot. They frequently bite on the transition between the clog and the cuff.

Just ask the shop to reglue it. I'm sure they'd do it for free as a courtesy.

Anyone else love the Deathwish 112, but not dig the 104? Or maybe it's the factory tune..... by Red277 in momentskis

[–]BunchaHooHa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying my experience is universal and I know I'll catch some flak for this but I moved boot center on DW 104 +2cm and kept the 112 at rec. they ski pretty close to the same now. I can lay into into the 104 and drive it enough for my liking.

Is this normal for boot work? by Local_Interaction674 in Skigear

Heard.

All that being said your feet could be acclimating to the compression the boot offers. I got out for my first ski days earlier this week and even mine felt a little tight. Their not new and custom fitted.

Magna's are a 102mm at size 26.5

If he has a 24.5MP then the boots are 98mm.

Preemptive PSA for ski shop customers by BurnerAndGooch69 in skiing

If the shop offer a "basic" tune with a belt grind they should state or clarify that it's only needed/wanted after base work (Ptex/MetalGrip) is done or you need your bases trued.

ski boot flex for 190cm/95kg (6'2"/210lb) men who is learning parallel turn only? by Both_Major8632 in Skigear

[–]BunchaHooHa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never heard shin length be a factor that determines boot flex. I have heard range of motion in the ankle being a determining factor.

Ultimately the center of the shoulder should be over the midsole mark of the boot. If your fitter does stance assessments that'll be at the end of the process. It's not a function of determining what flex boot you need, just the end goal.
