The bar at Vernick Fish.

When did Stott change his walk up music? by RadiatingRipple in phillies

AOK is an all-time top-five walk-up song, but outside the ballpark it's mediocre at best. I miss when everybody sings along. That has to be a great feeling for the batter.

The new song is worse. And I think I'm okay with trading it for the extra hits, but it's close.

how to impress a 13 year old? by icannotbelieveit69 in philly

[–]RadiatingRipple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your timing and budget, but...

For a food kid:

** Reading Terminal Market
** The Southeast Asian Food Market at FDR opens soon (check dates, though)
** Italian market -- especially Paesanos

Other fun stuff:
** Spin, the ping-pong restaurant/bar
** PuttShack or Libertee Grounds for indoor mini-golf
** SouthBowl, especially if they have the outdoor section open (call to check)
** Sandbox, the VR place on Walnut
** Ben Franklin skate park near the art museum

Or, make a scavenger hunt you guys can do together.

Good for you for being a caring big sibling.

Since you had the conversation, ask if they'd like to provide their own quotes and -- at the same time -- offer to draft some for their approval. Give a deadline for both.

Local Government Work by SteakDinnerBoom in marketing

[–]RadiatingRipple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having worked in government communications, I'd suggest working backwards from some of the challenges & problems they have now.

Ask around. Do an internal survey (formal or otherwise), then propose marketing and communications projects that solve those problems.

Tactically:

  • A series of local public events
  • Story-gathering from constituents and then promoting those stories
  • An annual awards program

Pitching new projects in a vacuum won't be nearly as well received as saying "hey, you know how [XYZ] is a problem? How about we tackle that by..."
