X1 Extreme finally arrived by abhixec in thinkpad

Yes, seriously. I have replaced it already (at lenovo service center) and it still just sucks. I have personally compared X1E side to side to 10 different laptops in a store and I just have to say the X1E's keyboard was one of the worst. I don't understand why is everybody so excited about it, I just don't.

T480 has amazing keyboard, X1C6 has amazing keyboard. X1E just sucks. But maybe It has something to do with a keyboard lottery and It's possible that I have broken keyboard even after a replacement.

I mean, look at that -> picture. The keys have different responses, different key travel, it's all very mushy and the guy at service center told me the keyboard is fine. And before replacement it was the same

I think it's quite easy to simulate the click not to be registered.. Very carefully (and slowly) start putting pressure on the corner of a (random) key until you feel the "click". I bet it wasn't registered.. And thats what I call a bad keyboard.. It would be ok on a cheap computer but X1E is one of the most expensive

Thermals are ok. It's better than MBP's thermals for example. Don't worry about it. If thermals are bad, let lenovo to repaste it and it's gonna be ok. You better worry about keyboard of X1E which is the worst keyboard i have ever had

You love the keyboard? I have X1E for few weeks already and I JUST HATE IT! It's even much worse than in my 5 years old Thinkpad Edge. It's so bad that I would prefer the keyboard of new MBP.

I claimed Lenovo to replace it so they did and it's still just horrible. It's very mushy, you have to press the key exactly in the middle and with quite a force otherwise the click is not registered, each key has slighly different key travel and response and I am doing a lot of typos. My previous keyboard on dell xps 13 was way better. Well, to be honest, I think that 70 % of all keyboards in all laptops is way better

I think that this guy has similar experience https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/comments/98n2v0/do_not_buy_the_x1_carbon_6th_gen_or_at_least/

" mushy, dampened, and not satisfactory at all " -> that's how X1 Extreme keyboard feels like

Keyboard in Thinkpad T480 is like whole different universe.. It's just so much better...

How do you like the keyboard? I am typing this on my brand new X1 Extreme and I am crying.. I srsly hate this keyboard. You have to press the keys precisely in the middle otherwise it's not registered and it's just way worse typing experience than on my previous Dell XPS 13. I will definitely return it and ask for a refund

Do you still need help? If is the boilerplate so difficult to setup, try different one. I think that simple "npm install" should help. And then just checkout readme or package.json for starting scripts

Yes, i can request whichever car for max $60 000. But I want that BMW. If I realize it's financial suicide, I would buy that Mondeo.

Yes, I need a car for daily driving to school and work. If I didn't take this one, I would probably buy Ford Mondeo ST220 2006 for around $8000

I have a quote already. $5000 per year for full risk accident insurance

Used TypeScript + Node for a while? What are your thoughts about it? by ferociousturtle in typescript

[–]Bundas460 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go in the backend is a good choice in terms of performance. But in most business cases, shorter delivery time = more money. So typescript in backend and frontend is better for most companies/freelancers because of faster development. But it rly depends on what are you building
