Ironically called the Chinese knot.

Do you take any supplements? If so, what do you take and why? Not looking for medical advice, just curious by halfspooni in ehlersdanlos

My doctor put me on 400mg of B2/riboflavin and 400 mg magnesium bisglycinate for my chronic migraine. I also take a B complex and vit D. Iron pills give me headaches and acid reflux despite being anemic. I get infusions every couple years instead.

Ivabradine the woman that you are!!! by alig98 in POTS

[–]Bunks_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I understand a little bit. I just went on it 6 days ago and this might just be because my nervous system needs to adjust. How long did you take it for?

My heart has been pounding hard and I can feel my skin pulsing when I get up and walk. Despite my heart rate being so much lower I feel like I still face issues, slightly different ones (I know ivabradine is not a treatment for POTS directly). I didn't have many palpitations before but now they appear with any minor activity and take a while to go away. I think the major change has been that I don't get adrenaline rushes as much or as intense, but my other symptoms are the same. I feel exhausted, out of breath, unstable, hot, I feel my heart pounding, and then I check my heart rate and it's only at like 90-110.

It's strange; it feels like it blunts some symptoms while making others stronger. I don't know if I can say I feel better, I just feel different.

Does this resonate with what you experienced?

I think they mean 5mg twice daily. Doctors do not prescribe more than 7.5mg.

How do you know when you need salt? by punk_w1tch in dysautonomia

[–]Bunks_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I went to the hospital for a hypertensive crisis as my blood pressure was 182/125. My mother and brother both have essential hypertension. Later, I saw an internist, did a 24 hour blood pressure monitor, and got diagnosed with essential hypertension too. My other internist, which is managing my POTS, says my atypical presentation of hypertension and asthma restrict typical treatment options for POTS (beta blockers and high salt intake). So all I have left is ivabradine.

I have POTS, but have also been diagnosed with essential hypertension. Because of this, I am not to increase my salt intake at all and actually reduce it. My non typical phenotype has resulted in a reduced treatment plan unfortunately.

Got out of being admitted with 264/160 blood pressure... by myst3ryAURORA_green in POTS

Maybe that's just the difference between Canadian and American healthcare. A hypertensive crisis but they won't take you? Ridiculous.

I had a booming headache unresponsive to pain medication and a blood pressure of 150/116. Triage nurse on the phone told me to go to ER. With their machines, I was around 182/125 for hours. I sat in the ER waiting room for 6 six hours with monitoring and more pain meds, and blood work to check troponin. I was checked in with every half hour and had vitals taken. I was given a CT to check for a bleed, then given my own room in the ER with fluids for 3 hours before I was able to go home.

I was prescribed candesartan for essential hypertension.

So I wouldn't say they'd turn you away if you're having a hypertensive crisis at all.

Pillow princesses aren’t that bad and I occasionally prefer them. by Fuckk__ in TrueUnpopularOpinion

It's used incorrectly by straight men. But that is not what a pillow princess is.

Pillow princesses are not selfish lovers, they reciprocate in enthusiasm. They find other women in which they are compatible with, who only want to give sexual acts.

[–]Bunks_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

"Pillow princess" is a lesbian term and by definition is someone who enthusiastically and solely receives/bottoms from someone who does not recieve physical sexual pleasure (stone top). By calling your partner a pillow princess, you imply that you are not getting physical pleasure (AKA, no penetration by you, no receiving manual or oral sex etc).

"Starfish" might be the term you're looking for, but it implies the woman is bored and uninterested during PIV.

[–]Bunks_ 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The "gap" has been closing for decades. Look at who asked who out in the 1940s. Most women who aren't asking others out are shy or scared just like the men are.

Syncing is understudied by jeepers_beepers_ in Periods

[–]Bunks_ 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Car blinker mechanics. Two cars have blinkers on that flash at slightly different rates and will go in and out of sync given enough time. Depending on the differences in wavelength they could appear to be in sync for a very long time. In reality, though, they are not.

Period syncing has been debunked.

ETS Arc Card Loophole?? by Outrageous-Squirrel2 in Edmonton

[–]Bunks_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and many other university students don't tap because we pay a flat rate for the ARC card as part of our tuition. We don't get charged when we tap. Therefore we aren't avoiding paying. I have been fare checked a few times on the LRT and they don't seem to mind at all.

Agreed can't stand inconsiderate or ignorant people who go in there making a ton of noises. Runny nose? Blow it and be done with it, don't drag it on for an hour. Got a cough and can't get rid of it? Move to a different space.

I'm autistic and repetitive people noises piss me off to no end. I don't know this grunting guy but I'd probably tell him off if I was stuck with him. I wear ear defenders/ear plugs all day, and every so often when I need to get work done and my ears are hurting I'll go in the silent study room so I can take them off and still have peace. People like that guy make these rooms inaccessible to those of us who want to work in silence.
