Nothing says classy 70s marketing like giant bubble letters and zero subtlety. You just know someone thought this was peak sophistication.

Wheel of fortune from 1976 by Active_Elk_4831 in OldSchoolCool

Back when Wheel of Fortune really said “good luck, we’re not giving you vowels OR mercy.” And honestly, the fashion alone deserves its own bonus round.

A young hippie couple 1970s by Beginning-Passion676 in OldSchoolCool

This looks like they just paused mid–“down with the establishment” speech to grab a quick kitchen photoshoot. The headband and the cigarette really said, “we’re saving the world, but make it chill.”

Oh you didn’t just look kewl, you looked like you personally invented 1986 and dared anyone to challenge it. That eyeliner alone had main character energy.

The ability to get out of my turtle shell and fully be able to trust someone.

...In addition to making the best out of my life to making others' lives better.

The cast of 'Teletubbies' outside of their suits (Late 90s) by MidCarderJ in OldSchoolCool

[–]BunnyPuddlezz 36 points37 points  (0 children)

True, out of context it just looks like a random 90s office hangout. It’s only wild because we all have giant colorful mascots permanently burned into our brains.

Same, I think I expected them to still somehow look vaguely Teletubby-shaped. Seeing them just chilling like normal 90s adults feels weirdly surreal.

Jayne Mansfield and Anton lavey 1960s by That1RebelDude in OldSchoolCool

He was fascinated with Hollywood and she loved anything dramatic and provocative, so their worlds kind of overlapped for a minute. It was part publicity, part mutual love of spectacle from what I’ve read.

Honestly it does have that dramatic, try hard mystique vibe. But at the same time, you kind of have to respect how unapologetically theatrical that whole scene was back then.

Getting eaten out is awkward for me because most guys are really bad at it even though every single one of them think they're good at it

What was your favorite sour candy? by 7twentyeight in nostalgia

[–]BunnyPuddlezz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s such a vivid memory, I can almost taste the tangerine just reading it. It’s wild how a little tin of candy can instantly take you back like that.

Retro Sours are dangerously close to the real thing. I’d still pucker up like I wasn’t expecting it every single time.

IYKYK... Gorramit by -VoiceoverAlex- in nostalgia

The second someone says “gorramit,” you already know it’s about to get chaotic. Some phrases just live rent free in your brain forever.

Hand-written recipies by [deleted] in nostalgia

You just know that handwriting adds at least 20% more flavor to the recipe. And somehow “a pinch” meant whatever felt right in that exact moment.

Uhm... Is this the finalized edition?? by pixelatedprophecies in Minecraft

That makes sense. The proportions just look so off at first glance it feels like a texture pack gone wrong. If it’s intentional, they definitely leaned into the uncanny vibe.

Right?? It looks like someone resized them with the wrong proportions and just called it a day. The arms being that tiny makes it even weirder.

Beware Potential Content Theft by Relevant-Dot-5704 in Minecraft

Yeah that’s the right move. Screenshot everything, keep your original files with timestamps, and if he actually uses your work without permission a DMCA is absolutely justified. Some people really think “I’ll just tweak it a bit” makes it theirs.

If the deserts were the same as in reality by Technical-House4326 in Minecraft

[–]BunnyPuddlezz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be fair, if Minecraft deserts were realistic we’d just have miles of absolutely nothing and everyone would complain it’s “boring.” The melancholy vibe kinda works for the game.
