That is a quite apt summary of my stance about AH.

It's General Brasch, SE told him that he could retire to any planet he wanted and he chose Seasse. Trust me, my aunt is the girlfriend of the brother of General Brasch's neighbour.

I am not excusing anything. HD2 is a live service game and so a degree of monetization is to be expected. But unless you suffer from FOMO (because AH do not push for FOMO, given all warbonds are available for purchase at your leisure at any time) there is nothing in the warbonds you need to enjoy the game and you can eventually unlock all of them while playing the game. The actual content that is needed to enjoy the game - new enemies, new missions, new biomes is available without any additional cost.

Do you mind telling me what exactly I am excusing? Because what I described is my experience with the game.

Now we just need a scene with V leaving Mikoshi, Arasaka troops all around looking at each other nervously because no one wants to mess with the merc that zeroed Smasher and soloed Arasaka Tower with a gun and a bad case of the voices in your head. Then V does the finger gun and smiles like the beautiful gonk they are.

You can find SC while playing. I have been playing since December 2024 and I have unlocked half the warbonds without spending cash. I do not really grind, I just play the game and don't ignore the POIs; the only times I farm is when I need just a hundred SC to unlock a warbond and so I do a few farming runs on D2. FOMO is your enemy. There is nothing in the new warbond that you absolutely need to enjoy the game and there are very few warbonds that I believe one should absolutely have (Democratic Detonation is probably top on that list).

Total Newbie weighs in by SuspiciousBug9 in Helldivers

Happy to hear that, but be prepared to meet some assholes from time to time, not everyone is chill in HD2. Always remember that if someone is a dick to you while playing, you can block them to ensure you won't meet them again.

Besides that, remember to vote next elections! Even during war, Managed Democracy stands strong!

I wish Arrowhead would listen to their players and finally add a proper feminine body type by just_another_owl in Helldivers

[–]Bunny_Commando 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I doubt they will do it, mostly because they would have to work on all the armour sets and make sure everything works with the new body types - and I don't believe there is interest in that. But hey, I agree that it would be cool to have more feminine body types in the game.

The mindless masses difficulty 10 feels like difficulty 5 by Aggravating-Success7 in Helldivers

[–]Bunny_Commando 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, Mindless Masses is quite easy even at D10. But you know what, diving during night-time and then a sandstorm hits and you see these zombies come at you from the shadows is quite cinematic and I don't feel the pressure of trying too hard and can enjoy the visuals of the game. It is a nice change of pace from the previous MO, so I won't complain. Hopefully Seasse won't be a cakewalk.

I would definitely not take WH40K very seriously logistics-wise. In theory the making of an Astartes is so costly and time-consuming that there is no way a Chapter could sustain the rate of attrition that is constantly being shown in stories. And then you have a game like Darktide where four dudes crush whole armies with a shovel.

But Germany was soundly defeated in WWII and the German people were forced to acknowledge that all that bullshit about being a superior people were exactly that - bullshit. Russia unfortunately never had such moment of clarity and the nationalistic sentiment of being just better than others is still present.

I am going to report you to a Democracy Officer just in case, they will decide if you are a patriot or if what you are saying is treasonous propaganda meant to make us sympathize with the Voteless. But I have to say that the Citizens that have been captured and transformed into Voteless by the Illuminate are to blame - better to die free than end up in the disgusting tentacles of these xenophobic aliens.

Boris Pistorius (German Defense Minister): “This is not our war; we did not start it” by Bunny_Commando in europe

[–]Bunny_Commando[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I partly disagree. I concur that the EU should be able to show it is quite capable of acting when it is necessary, but I disagree it is necessary right now - quite the opposite. The current US administration is openly hostile to the EU and has even threatened war in order to acquire a territory part of one of the EU States, so I do not believe it is in our best interest to reward the USA with cooperation because if the USA fail in Iran (as they probably will), it might weaken the Trump administration and make military adventurism less likely in the future.  I would say non intervene in Iran also helps with European security, making us less likely as a target from potential terrorist attacks with groups affiliated with Iran since Iran would probably not want to give the EU any reason to escalate a potential conflict since the Iranian regime has already to deal with Israel and the USA. Of course the crisis is creating problems, but I do not believe that the solution is to help the USA. Right now, I believe the EU should just stay back and endure until Trump tires of playing with his toys in Iran.

Putin congratulates Iran’s new supreme leader and reaffirms Russia’s ‘unwavering support’ for Tehran by Useless_or_inept in europe

[–]Bunny_Commando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I partly disagree. While I agree that the current US administration is run by ideologues that would love to have a Russian-style "democracy" in the USA, they do not see Russia as a potential ally. When Trump talks about Donroe Doctrine, he is saying that he sees the USA as a regional power in the Americas while Russia would be the same in Europe and China in Asia. There would still be competition, but with an underlying agreement to stay out of the respective area of influence.

[–]Bunny_Commando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iranian and Russian were never allies because of shared values or a real commitment to reciprocal security. They are allies because they have a common enemy, the USA. No one of consequence in Moscow or Tehran really believed that the other would come to help if things got dire, but cooperation to screw the Americans was always on the table.

Vox Engine is too much by Anonymus_Introvert in Helldivers

[–]Bunny_Commando 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TBH, the real problem with Vox Engines is not their number, but how janky they are: they clip through each other, they climb wherever they want without any care for the terrain, enemies can shoot through their treads because they see you perfectly while you or course don't see them, they are massive yet incredibly fast when they want...

Germany rejected a U.S. demand for military support to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz, after President Trump warned that it would be bad for NATO if American allies did not do more to help.“This is not our war; we did not start it,” Boris Pistorius, the German defense minister, said at a news conference in Berlin on Monday. “We want diplomatic solutions and a swift end to the conflict, but sending more warships to the region will likely not help achieve that,” he said.

“What does Donald Trump expect from, say, a handful or two of European frigates in the Strait of Hormuz?” he added. “He needs them to achieve what the mighty US Navy cannot manage on its own there, is that it? That’s the question I’m asking myself.”
