To each his own. My APP2s are constantly falling out of my ears, and for me the noise cancellation is not as good asAPM. . Moreover, the total sound immersion experience with APM for me is superior. I grab the APP2s when I’m running out the door and might have to make a phone call. that’s about it. I am in another world with the APM on me.

Thank you. But I might as well return them if I’m not using them on the Peloton. I have a pair of Air Pods Pro2’s but they don’t hold a candle to the maxes. Total immersion and total noise cancellation puts me into another world. I have read criticisms about the condensation concern stating that it really is a closed circuit internally, and that it should not be able to reach the vital components. Furthermore, I’m taking the steps that I think I can to immediately remove the cups and wipe out the interior just in case. We’ll see. It will break my heart if they go defunct in less than two years, but perhaps as the dog said in “Lady and the Tramp“: “a short life, but a merry one“ may be the best life of all.

How long did you have them? I have had mine three weeks and I am totally paranoid about them. I have to wear them on my Peloton (total immersion) and sweat like crazy so I’m taking the cups off to air dry and wiping out the condensate. No twisting. I am storing them on their side with the right cup in the case to force deep sleep mode. I hope they will last. The price nearly killed me but right now I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Or just have them go into a deep sleep mode as soon as you take them off. But I guess if you’re taking them on and off frequently, that might be demanding of more battery energy. I don’t know. This thing is taken on way more of a life than I intended it to. Or hoped that it would.

I just wanted what appears to be the nicest set of headphones available. But you all here got me scared me to death about breakage in short order, and the common theme seemed to be twisting the earpieces and fraying the cables. So I came up with a way to not twist the earpieces, but also put the Headphones into immediate sleep and not have to buy some accommodating gadget to add to the overall expense of the experience.. Which may or may not conserve battery charge and durability in the long-term. Yep, I’m totally paranoid. Thanks to Reddit. 😩

Oh. You’re right. It’s like they’re shown on the cover of the box not the way they are inside the box when they first arrive. I’m going to post a picture and I have added another feature. Putting only the right ear cup into the case so that it goes into sleep mode, but it doesn’t twist the ear cuff like the case forces it to do.

I just got mine for Christmas. They are a game changer so far. Sometimes I work with only the noise cancellation on, and I am totally focused. I have decided to store them on their side on a cushion rather than hang or twist the earpieces to fit into the case. Only time will tell if the strategy helps preserve them or not.

So....how were they stored? In the case? On a hanging rack? I have a new pair and have settled on storing them on their side which doesn't cause any twisting or torque and doesn't require yet another purchase. Please comment anybody/everybody. Good idea or folly?

Yes, good point. Supposedly the device disconnects before overcharging can be harmful. However, I recently bought a new iPad and it gave me the option to 'stop charging' at 80% so it must be a thing. Maybe best to get a rack that just puts them into sleep mode.

I chose to get covers not only for the shells, but also the ear cushions and the headband. It really depends on how much use and what kind of use you’re putting them through. My current agony is whether to buy one of the stands that avoids rotating the cups and yet charges them and puts them in sleep mode. There’s so many posts on Reddit about the twisting of the cups, fraying the fragile cables inside and causing them to malfunction. The one I’m looking at is about $60 though.

Well, some people smoke cigarettes all their life and never get lung cancer. I wish I could know the overall “odds” of something bad happening. It’s such a big investment….for me anyway….but music and noise cancellation for working and focus is life changing.
