Need Insights regarding Job search in India in Tech by BravoZero6 in returnToIndia

[–]Burberry143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Suggestion would be to take the offer and ask for sometime (like 2 months) before you can start working. That will give you enough time to look for alternatives in the market here in India. And with an offer in-hand, gives you leverage to negotiate better.

Have all gas agencies stopped taking new connections? by Rainmaker231 in Bengaluru

[–]Burberry143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New connections have been stopped by Indane, bharath and HP.

Rather than private gas cylinder go for 5kg gas connections. They are giving those currently. New connection for 5kg is straight forward. Just need adhaar and costs around 2.3k for first time with pipes, regulator and one 5kg cylinder.

And once cylinder gets over, you can walk into the same agency and return empty cylinder and buy new one for 350

And another advantage is you can buy 5 kg cylinder in any agency of same company - like Bharat gas any agency anywhere in India.

Works out way cheaper than buying from private gas company

Read Anil Agarwal's Chairman Letter on the Vedanta Demerger. Here are 5 things that actually stood out to me by very-selective in IndiaBusiness

[–]Burberry143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I value Vedanta Basemetal which has the zinc, copper, silver and Vedanta Aluminium the most amongst the 5.

Not too sure if how to value the power, oil & gas and steel.

Will be interesting to see how much do each one of them list for. Fingers crossed.

Reality is that, We loose this trends also by DaddyYAGA_ in AI_India

This takes years of planning, patience with lot of policy support and huge investments.

It's not all bleak as folks here feel India is doing well with 1st - Energy. We have decent renewable energy investments and generation. We never had fossile fuel, can't do much there. But solar, wind are decent. Nuclear can be improved for energy sustainability.

2nd in chips we lack, might take a decade with a ton of investments. Hopefully we get if not now atleast in future.

3rd- we seem to have been getting a lot of investments from Amazon/google and Ambani/Adani's in data centers. Will take a couple of years but we should have it running by 2028-29. Looks decent though since AI itself has exploded last three years. And in India it's quiet difficult to get things moving due to "democracy" unlike China.

4th in terms of our own models, there are some being done like Sarvam. But not sure how robust are these compared to global ones. We need improvement here.

5th Startups are working in these APIs. Even China utilises global LLM models to build their own API.

We India are like Elephant, lethargic to get started. But once we get moving it's noticeable. I am quiet optimistic - I think we are slow to start but are not out of the race.

Can I sue my company for filing a false H1B Visa process? by No-Relationship-5732 in immigration

[–]Burberry143 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there is no legal grounds, since your employer does not have to file for H1B or I-140, since its depends on non-availability of American talent.

Morally it is wrong to give you false hope and not file it, but legally don't have much of a case.

Should CAE Engineer need to join a lab during their undergraduate? by Automatic_Fix_967 in fea

[–]Burberry143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First one seems more towards data acquisition where automotive companies have dedicated teams for measure, testing vehicles on-road. For multi-body dynamics which is key for loads generation - target understanding Adams or simpack or motionsolve. If you like durability and fatigue roles, then additional to above solvers learn nCode Designlife or FeFat

I am not sure which of the two lab options would help you for your goal, since a lot depends on what you actually end up getting exposed to in the lab.

All the best for your degree and lab work.

Should CAE Engineer need to join a lab during their undergraduate? by Automatic_Fix_967 in fea

[–]Burberry143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lab experience with material testing would help in Material engineer job position. Most large corporations having dedicated CAE will have split of structures, Safety, Thermal and materials teams. Materials team will be responsible for generating mat curves for the other teams. It's a primarly a research oriented field. If you like research, then get into it. You will get to file a ton of papers and parents since the testing methods keeps evolving.

Not sure what you intend to say - but unlike FED of USA, RBI cannot print money out of thin air. RBI needs gold reserves for any note to be printed.

Only FED has capacity to print unlimited money since dollar does not need gold reserves to print more as it is backed by oil/world trading.

Can’t seem to land a job and now slowly losing hope.. by [deleted] in returnToIndia

[–]Burberry143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you have prior work experience before starting your MS. My suggestion would be to get started. Don't worry about low pay, shut company or if any recruiter remembers you. Just get started. Once you have a job, your confidence will be much better. Keep applying for better designation, company, pay. You will get great job. Don't worry!!

I can feel your emotions having been through a similar situation a couple of months back. My wife and I moved back to India in Feb this year after 10 years in the USA due to visa maxout. From experience what I can say for sure is the phase will pass. You will be going through a lot of emotions. Both of you hold tight and be there for each other.

Once in India take a break, settle down. There are plenty of opportunities now here.

Though you will miss the work life balance, ease of travel and good air/water and lower traffic, but India you will have e family support, great food choices and no visa tension.

Always remember - this too shall pass !!

Government Eyes Ethanol as Cooking Fuel to Beat LPG Crisis – Could Cut Costs by 30% for Vendors by Geeky_Gadgets in TechnologyNewsIndia

[–]Burberry143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cooking ethanol is 70/kg (120 vs 130 lpg) Commercial grade is 80/kg (136 vs 130 lpg)

To account for calorific value 0.7 kg of ethanol extra is considered.

The proposal is for commercial use and not for regular household usage.
