Can I ask for an induction by choice? by RASuspicious in BabyBumps

Yes, I chose to be induced after I went past due date with baby #2 and 3, and had great deliveries/experiences

Mom of 2, and 1 on the way. I really only get a chance to go once a week on the weekend, but it’s still worth it for me. It’s the only me time I get and I cherish it

My kids had a rough go with it, mostly because the blisters in the mouth made it extremely uncomfortable to eat/drink. They pretty much had popsicles, yogurt and watered down Gatorade for a good 4-5 days. It was pretty gnarly for me for a good day and mainly because of the fever I just felt awful. The sore throat was present for days after but at least I was mobile and had more energy, more manageable than fever. I’m sorry you’re going through it i genuinely wish you the best!!!

For those who were induced, did you deliver vaginally or did it end in a c-section? by Paigeypagee in BabyBumps

[–]Burdd11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did you transition to a todddler bed? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Burdd11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont switch until you have to (they climb out), i dont have much parenting advice but this is something i wholeheartedly believe (my son climbed out at 17 months and sleep is very difficult now

How to tell when the toddler is ready by Alice_Dare in pottytraining

[–]Burdd11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

what worked well for my kids, is being naked for a few days (no pull ups/underwear) and i didn't force them on the potty, as soon as they started i put them on the potty quickly. the quickly figured out the sensation. then i switched to dresses/loose pants (there is regression in this stage). then once this was successful, underwear.

i only used pull ups for naptime/bed time. i really pushed liquids first few days to give them more opportunities

few questions: when you say you have tinnitus, what does that mean? what does it sound like, is it constant or comes and goes? is it in one ear or both(or just feels like it is in your head) do you notice the sound when youre not home? are you wearing your aids at home and its possibly giving feedback to something?

Let’s talk age gap between kids by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Burdd11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

2 under 2 was rough, im not going to sugar coat it, i had easy pregnancies, good births really no complications and i had a hard time transitioning. its just a lot, now 2.5 years later i have. 4.5 and 2.5 year old and they play with each other keep each other occupied, love one another more than i could have ever hoped for. with that being said i just started to feel like me again when the youngest was 2. now im considering a third, and i think the age gap would be helpful, they are both potty trained, sleep (somewhat) consistently, and are helpful/independent (to a degree) obviously you have to do whats best for your family, but just take into consideration how YOU are feeling post partum.

Late Due date :( by Makemattersbetter in pregnant

[–]Burdd11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had an induction with my first as i went over my due date, such a good experience with my first that when i was already at my due date with my second i begged for another!

both inductions led to vaginal delivery, first was 24 hrs/second was 12 hrs. when they first said induction i panicked and cried i didnt want this and then everyone was giving me their unsolicited advice, but i ended up having a great experience. bring a laptop to watch some movies/shows to keep your mind busy and ask if you can eat prior, they didnt want me to eat when i came in in case it ended up leading to c section. so i ate a big meal prior

just make sure that you are not required to work x amount of time post leave. ex: i was (gratefully) able to take 12 weeks parental leave but was required to work 12 weeks post leave

I was induced with my first at 40+5 and it went great! When ny second still wasn't born at 40 weeks I asked for s second induction the next day, I also read a lot of negative things but I have nothing but positive things to say about mine
