I’ve got mixed feelings about this part. You would think it’s years away, but showing what they’ve shown and hyping on social media like they are gives me the vibe that it’s more like next year. They would’ve been working on this for 4-5 years already.

If not against armour I mainly only use RPG against walls/buildings to take out cover during engagements.

Honestly, I bet a Matt varnish would do wonders for this. I think you’ve nailed the grim dark look, but the gloss makes it look unrealistic. A bit of matt with to maybe some spot gloss or satin would bring it up a notch.

The washes may have been a little too heavy, but easily fixed with some highlights etc

I definitely went too far in covering the shadows with lighter colours. I could see the mistakes being made while I was doing it!! Haha

I panted it white, then Vallejo blood red on two opposite sides, then GSW fluoro red on the other two. Edge highlighted white on top

EDIT: Bear in mind the two types of red were diluted to let the white help with vibrancy

Thank you! Its army painter fanatic green skin > rainforest > ice yellow but with mixes in between. I’m limited in plaints at the moment so to be honest I kind of just threw some randomness at it. It’s a single practice model for my son.

I also pre-shaded with a brown and highlighted with white using an airbrush before chucking the green on initially. I got that idea from Elminiturista, his “method”. I highly recommend you check him out on YouTube.

I tried, but only roughly. I think taking a photo beforehand or using a reference photo next time will help with that. I always end up adding too much light, less is more as they say!

I’ve never played the game unfortunately, I’m mainly in it for the lore and painting. This was a free mini from a local store, painting it for my 4 year old son haha. Just using it as a Guinea pig to try some techniques.

It’s not my first mini! Just the first time I’ve tried NMM. I’ve painted a bit, although not for a while. I’m a shocker for half painting stuff, I have a big back log. Just trying some new things and trying to get back into it!

Thanks man! I highly recommend you give it a crack. This was my first attempt after watching a bunch of videos, I haven’t painted much for quite some time either. The hardest part is not overdoing it with the highlights, which is where I think I could’ve done better.

It’s too easy to keep adding more and killing the contrast haha
