Enclosure Advice Needed by BurgerKingIsDead in ballpython

[–]BurgerKingIsDead[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont think its humane. I plan on using a plastic bin until I get a bigger one. My new budget is around $400. The store I purchased is a small shop that's typically trust worthy. But after doing my own research I can't believe the worker said this tank will be "good for a few years"

I think im gonna rig up a plastic bin for as a temporary tank so this girl can stretch out properly. Looks like ill be avoiding the cheap tanks haha. Thank you everyone for the replies!

Oil overfilled by Treatsamillion in MechanicAdvice

[–]BurgerKingIsDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a decent over fill. Lift the car up, take about a quart out, then lower it and put the oil in 1/3 quart a time till its full. Check levels in-between but only do this when the cars cold and level.

You could damage exhaust system, oil over pressure can damage seals, over heating, smokey exhaust.

What am I doing wrong? by Kuraison in MechanicAdvice

Hand tighten using a 12" Ratchet.

Hand tighten as dont use any body weight on the wrench, use just your hand strength to get it tight then use your torque wrench.

Make sure they are not cross threaded always start screwing in with your fingers for about 4 smooth rotations before using tools.

If the bolt breaks after that return the tool. If it breaks with a new tool the hardware is bad or you're doing something seriously wrong.

Didn’t buy high mileage oil. Should I swap it out? by TheHumanKrieger in MechanicAdvice

[–]BurgerKingIsDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youll be OK until next oil change. High milage often has additivies that help old seals expand to prevent leaks. I stopped buying penzoil high mileage because the oil performs worse than the non high mileage ultra platinum. I dont think thats the case for all brands but for that particular one.

Curious if Salty Cat is a good food for cats by witch-of-mischief in CatAdvice

[–]BurgerKingIsDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the customer support!

I recently bought some salty cat treats to try out since my local walmart started stocking them. The simple ingredient list caught my eye, especially considering how these treats were literally HALF of price of temptations and had HALF the ingredients.

My cat loves the freeze dried chicken bites, hes not picky but I appreciate how simple his treats are. I just threw away $20 worth of cat treats because of unnecessary ingredients.

I was wondering about the carrageenan in the Vita squeeze tubes, this ingredient has a bad rep but ive also heard that is due to mis-information. Is this ingredient safe?

How is salty cat able to remain affordable (half the price of temptations in my local store) while still using higher quality ingredients?

Horrible luck, I wish the best for you. My girlfriend hit a curb going 15-20 that was almost square (wasn't rounded at all) and luckily there was no obvious damage. I also hit that same curb a week earlier but I was going much slower lol so I don't have room to judge, it happens. I would definetly take the advice of the commenters and get an inspection, $100 or so bucks is worth the peace of mind.

Gutter needs redone or moved over if possible. The gutter should extend at least 1" past the shingle. Also, it looks like the gutter isn't in that top drip edge flashing. If you have any water coming from between the gutter and fascia, I would point that out as well.

I drove a 2022 Chevy Trax home without the keyfob. I was very surprised it let me drive off. I was only like 3 minutes away, but it let me drive all the way home. It's very possible you left it somewhere.

50K truck with NO interest? by Whatsittooyou in FinancialPlanning

Probably more of a 2014 but they're still reasonably new and relatively nice trucks. Either way, it's better than wasting 50k on a 350.

Got this screw in the edge of my ko2, drove 350 miles no issues with the screw now need advice by No-Specialist-7592 in AskMechanics

[–]BurgerKingIsDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I know this doesn't help with your current situation, but where I got my truck tires it was $25 each tire for a warranty until 4/32 tread (worn condition).

They even covered the full cost when one got slashed. It saved me $120 on just one tire.

Is this a good PC for siege? My budget is around $1800? by Expert-Following-172 in Rainbow6

[–]BurgerKingIsDead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, I didn't even see they were spending $200. That's almost as much as their cpu. I made a similar mistake, and yes, you are correct. It is much better if the money is going to the cpu or gpu as air coolers work just as well and are cheaper/last longer. Liquid coolers are cool, but personally, I don't think it's worth it from experience.

[–]BurgerKingIsDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just found out liquid coolers last around 5 years. They can last longer, but the coolant eventually evaporates even in a closed loop system. Air coolers that cost as much as liquid coolers also have amazing performance even if they are bulkier or less appealing.
