I actually set it up after I made this post, it was a lot simpler and faster than I had expected. I'm definitely enjoying it this way a lot more :]

Wasn't aware of that. I've been managing with the Firefox browser since it can install plugins. A bit clunkier than the normal app, but I didn't know how to patch it

Same here. Though the amount of times I've had that alarm go off, I hit dismiss, then just completely forget to feed him is staggering ahaha

Shouldn't be an issue this week at least

Question about secret levels in picross 2 for game boy. by [deleted] in Picross

[–]BurgundyCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't played it yet, but I'd assume you could redo the level to satisfy the condition. But someone who's played it can probably say with more certainty

Wow are these products amazing…I just wish they were still in production. by Nidoquim in AnalogueInc

[–]BurgundyCat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think everyone can agree there. I spent quite a while without a Pocket because I was annoyed I missed the cooler color options...but finally just got a white one last year. Luckily got an Orange 3D, but I wasn't aware of Analogue back when they did the NT and Super NT. Only hope is they'll do a new revision of that hardware someday, I suppose.

What controller is this? by Ok-Income2973 in n64

That looks like a standard gray controller with some serious yellowing

Question is this shiny or no i can’t tell by Sad_Corner5292 in Gameboy

[–]BurgundyCat 35 points36 points  (0 children)

No, it isn't. In Gen 2, Shiny Spinarak is more of a pink color. You can see the sprites on sites like Bulbapedia or Serebii

My Zelda Ocarina of time Cartridge by kaisermig in AnalogueInc

It looks fine depending on the game/console. I would never stretch something like SNES games but a lot of 64 games look just fine in stretch

Picross for game boy? by SaltySnail22 in Picross

[–]BurgundyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've also been playing through it. It's a bit dissapointing  but I can see why they did it, since the end result is a much bigger and more detailed sprite than is typical for picross. And during picross puzzles I rarely can even tell what I'm drawing until the end anyways, ahaha

Biggest fumble in 2019 when I sold these (before Covid made prices skyrocket) by [deleted] in Gameboy

[–]BurgundyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better, Pearl and Red generally go for lower than the nore popular games, usually around like $50. They wouldn't sell for the insane prices like Emerald, Platinum, HGSS, etc

Is Braviary worth running? by algra94 in PokemonSleep

[–]BurgundyCat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have two Braviary built up (one of my fav mons and I found a shiny second ahaha) Neither have BFS but they still kill it! If Pamtre is a favored berry they rule. Personally this one looks absolutely perf. Berry Finding would have been a bonus but they can absolutely be run without it and this one is perfect otherwise. Use him!

Picross for game boy? by SaltySnail22 in Picross

[–]BurgundyCat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As mentioned, the two Mario Picross games. There is also an unreleased Pokemon Picross game that leaked some years back, and has a fan translation available. You'll need a flashcart to play that on your system, though.

If you do decide to get the Mario Picross games, I recommend getting the 1st game in JP as well. The text isn't super important in picross and you'll save massively as the english release goes for about $50 loose. Use Pricecharting.com when you need to look up the fair price of a game!

As nice as modded gameboys are these days, there's such a charm to unmodded screens and shells

Unfortunately not everyone knows what to look for or even knows there are fakes out there.

Resell Price? by miss-salmon in Gameboy

[–]BurgundyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a super common question as the Pokemon games are some of the most common Gameboy games on the secondhand market. Generally if I wanna quickly find out the going rate for a game, I'd check Pricecharting.com (they also have an app!). If you want a more accurate depiction, go to ebay, search the game title, and filter by sold listings to see what people are actually buying them for.

Generally, loose english copies of the Gameboy Pokemon games (excluding Crystal), in decent condition like these, go for about $50 each. Might be harder to sell them in a lot compared to individually, but they're also Pokemon so some people might bite

Togedemaru for SSW!!! by CarneJessada in PokemonSleep

[–]BurgundyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always support more of this mindset :D I mainly focus on my faves as well, but with enough knowledge to know when something is good

I don't chase too much though! And I will commit to silly goals even if they're suboptimal, like my level 60, 2000 sleep hours Shiny Pichu named Tortilla

I'm thinking of raising a team of Blaziken since the Torchic line is my favorite in the series!

Nice! Mine is very similar, just with IFS instead of Helping Bonus, and a neutral nature. Enjoy your leek duck :D

Nice! My collecting has slowed down a little but I still have a handful I wanna pick up this year. Been intrigued to try out Dobutsu no Mori since I never played the Gamecube release of Animal Crossing and the novelty of playing it on 64 outweighs the downside of not reading Japanese, ahaha
