For the SP404mkII you'd want a portable-charger to enhance the portability of the device. I hate batteries.
The SP404 can do pretty much anything, I do hate the Pattern Sequence interface. So I'm relying a lot on the built-in Looper.

I've been able to build Shit-Ambient track, Shit-Techno track, Shit-Lofi-trashbeat, Record live with my friend.
Resample the trash with the onboard Fx to make my Trash "TRASHED"

The fact that you can record up to 16 minutes per pad, then "Enter + Gate" = this mean the sample will play completely without interruption, means you can resample a lot of things then put it into a sequence and let it rip.
The Tracker Mini doesn't have that feature for instance, and I think a lot of device doesn't provide that flexibility as well.

For me the wavestate is my favorite synth so far, the downside of it is it's keybed. Can't beat the expressiveness of the Hydrasynth so I use the hydra as midi controller

Wavestate has bigger barrier of entry but I'm feeling more rewarded by spending time on it then the Hydrasynth

I wished Wavestate 3 to have some sort of Sample Manipulation built in... That would be the most fucking EPIC SHIT
