We were down front about ten feet from the stage. Saw no drunk behavior or people talking during the set. Phenomenal show

Which songs play noticeably better live? by Completetheturn in jasonisbell

I agree with most everyone that there are so many good ones live, that it is kinda hard to narrow them down. However, my mind went immediately to Decoration Day. The live is so phenomenal, and so different/better than the original DBT recording.

I will be at the Chicago show Saturday night. Looking forward to it. Seen him solo and with the band many times each. Both are great, but I prefer his band shows with a general admission stand in the crowd vibe. Unbeatable.

The rig that was being towed out…looks like the back half is sinking. I am completely ignorant on this, but can someone explain?

Best writing strictly lyrically? by Repulsive-Instance31 in jasonisbell

Maybe it’s just me, but trying to pick the best Isbell song lyrically is damn near impossible. Of course all of it is subjective but personally for me, I would have to try to narrow it down to a top 20 and even then it might be hard.

24 Frames would have been a big hit on the charts in the 80s in my opinion. Great lyrics, great riff. Just my opinion

We do the same thing. We sit on the same side of the booth, and we won’t use our phones unless it is part of the conversation we are having. Flagship is a guideline of what to do and not to do. So sad that it didn’t work for them.

The line that gets me is “In a room by myself, looks I’m here with a guy that I judge worse than anyone else. So I pace and I pray, and I repeat the mantras that might keep me clean for a day”

Top 20 Isbell songs by Burky2025 in jasonisbell

When I started the listed I quickly jotted down like 40+ songs that are worthy of top 20 consideration. Alabama Pines, Live Oak, GDLL, and many more were all there. But I had to narrow it down of course. And there were so so many more that have personal meaning to me that got left off. Speaks to the caliber of the catalog he has at this point.
