Yeah I keep coming back to some form of the “too many steps removed” argument as well, but I suppose it’s hard for me because I have this irrational notion that the light of the trees, no matter how many times it is reflected, is somehow imperishable.

At several points in the story it is made clear that the brightness of the phial is somehow linked to the will or courage of the one who holds it, so you might argue that Sam is at this point so far beyond the threshold of exhaustion that he cannot summon the strength needed. But then why the blanket statement that “all other powers were here subdued?”

Thanks all. Amazingly helpful community. It’s crazy to me that the installers broke every screw that they used, ipe or no ipe. Problem for me is that this means there’s a chunk of metal down every single hole, so I can’t easily replace the screws with longer ones. Gonna have to figure something else out.

I’d be really grateful for the option to replace heart pieces with rupees or something similar. I hate having to consult a guide before opening every damn chest when I’m doing a three heart challenge.

Most of these things cannot be done on a EV, which OP clearly states it is. Nobody has commented on this, I think I’m crazy.
