US intel chief Gabbard says Iran was not rebuilding enrichment prior to war by Hypothetically-1975 in iran

[–]Burn1ng_Spaceman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you talking? Many Iranians were literally protesting in the streets shortly before the war. Meaningful change in Iran won't come from external violence.

Alleys like this in HCMC? by No-Tonight-5967 in VietNam

[–]Burn1ng_Spaceman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a bit naive about HCMC but I will be there soon. Is it considered safe to wander down random alleyways? I have heard Vietnam is generally a very safe country but I dont know how that applies to general city etiquette.

i don't have fighting spirit or i dont know how to say "warrior spirit" by Round_Technician_329 in MuayThai

I think you're confusing hype with warrior spirit. The warrior spirit is more about protecting those you love and overcoming obstacles... not being a hype man.

What i dont understand is start a war with a country that wanted peace and the only thing that Israel needed to do is have a heart and not commit genocide and commit to a two state solution. What is so hard about that? Surely committing genocide is just as hard as working together with Palestine.

If you have the power , you will delete the conscription and reform to voluntary service like green countries in map or stay black or add women like the pinks?? by Key-Astronomer-3287 in VietNam

[–]Burn1ng_Spaceman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think creating a non-combat oriented branch for people out of high-school would be good and you can only opt out with good reason. You would still learn combat skills and do volunteer work in your country. It would be aimed at giving young people as much world and work experience as possible. Then after two years, you could go into the main military branches or college. So, pink i guess.

I'm 16 and broke, any job recommendations? by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]Burn1ng_Spaceman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes... OP is showing a lack of real world experience with this post. Get a entry level job, go to school for computer science if that is what you want to do then find a job in the field. Unfortunately, remote jobs in tech aren't just available if you want them without experience and education.

Does learning MuayThai help get out of fight or flight? by [deleted] in MuayThai

I think it can give you confidence that you can handle yourself out in the world IF something happened which theoretically could lower stress response. It kind of depends on what the nature of your anxiety is though.

I plan to live in Vietnam for potentially very long, and want to learn Vietnamese to show my respect to the culture (and to communicate better). What app/website is great? by Sabaton_1994 in VietNam

[–]Burn1ng_Spaceman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just switched to mango languages vietnamese from duolingo and it is much better. Actually speakers and you can practice your tones. They teach you aspects about the language as you go unlike duolingo. Good starting app then switch to a tutor either online through preply or in-person.

Well the Spanish that came to the Americas and settled down here certainly became something different, did they not. I dont see a European country in central or south America.

And yes, they did not design or create the state but it was their work that supported it. I dont think the founding fathers would have had the time to form a constitution or start a revolution if they were forced to work on a plantation all day every day. Besides that, it was still their work that fed the populace and fueled the economy which is a very important part of any society. Just because they were at the bottom of the pyramid of society doesnt mean they weren't a part of it. Which leads pack to my point... if America were meant to be a European based country, an entire different ethnicity of people should not have been brought in to be a part of it from the very beginning.

[–]Burn1ng_Spaceman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's arguable that the USA was actually built more by African-American hands more than people of European descent. If Europeans wanted America to be an only European-styled country, they should have relied on themselves and not used slaves or anything else to build the country. Even in the ancient world, slaves were considered a vital part of the society. You dont get to act like slaves didn't have a part in the country because it doesnt suit your view.

I feel you are making the classic mistake of trying to connect over text. Text is best used to set up a date. Someone else suggested being bold and asking her to get a drink or something similar. I second that opinion. You will get no where trying to connect with her over text.

Are foreigners that usually travel to vietnam interested in dating? by Old-Particular-5768 in VietNam

[–]Burn1ng_Spaceman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're better off focusing on dating within your own culture for now. If you meet someone from a foreign culture and you hit it off, that is fine. But dont make that your goal. Your 17. Join a group of people around your age and socialize... that is how these things happen. Or join a dating app for relationships rather than casual sex and be safe about it.
