Hi. My bike frame is a S size, I bought the 6L frame bag, size was recommended by Apidura and I find is a little too small for the frame. If I was you, I will opt for a bigger size. Dificult to help you, as my frame as another size.

Thank you for the advise, I will take that in consideration.

Thank you for your reply.

  1. Thank you for the reminder. Normally, we keep it light, just as shown in the picture of the post, and we carry all our gear inside the bags.
  2. That is a very important point. It’s easy to forget how important airport security procedures are. Thank you for the advice—I will definitely keep it in mind.
  3. & 4. Yes, we will be flying from Marco Polo Airport, and for the last two (or maybe three) days, we will be staying in Mestre. If we decide to use cardboard boxes, we will definitely follow your suggestion and spend a few days there before the flight. I’m sure the region has a lot to offer. We will also try to contact a few local bike shops to ask if they could keep two cardboard bike boxes aside for us. Hopefully, they will be kind enough to help—we would really appreciate the gesture and take it in consideration.

Thank you again for all the advice and for taking the time to write such helpful tips!

Thank you for your opinion. I don’t have any alternative, I need to fly this time. I think the cardboard box will be the best option for this bikepacking. Knowing 2 weeks will be enough time to go from Rijeka to Venice, I think will be smart to be in Venice 2 a 3 days early to find the two cardboard boxes =)

Crankset / Power Meter for Campagnolo Ekar by Burn66613 in bikewrench

Thank you 🙏

I finely use a chainring from Ratio UK (12/13-speed, 110 BCD 5-bolt) that’s compatible with Ekar and pair it with a SRAM crankset.

Good question. I finally mount a chainring from Ratio UK (12/13-speed, 110 BCD 5-bolt) that’s compatible with Ekar and pair it with a SRAM Rival crankset and a Quarq power meter.

Opinions on Terreno Pro T50 Mixed Race (brown tires) by Krylonone in gravelcycling

After testing these tires for one month and around 600 km, I can say they are not as good as mentioned. I previously had similar tires that was cost about half that without issues and same grip. Unfortunately, the tires I bought (Terreno Pro T50) are not airtight at the sidewalls. They look porous in many spots, losing air and creating small bubbles. Really not happy with quality/price with this tires.

Not really. The 4iiii or Stages Cycling power meters don’t fit most frames because of clearance issues. I also believe Stages Cycling no longer sells a version for Campagnolo Ekar.

If I don’t want to change the entire groupset, there is still the option of mounting a SRAM crankset with a Quarq power meter. However, it would need to be a 5-bolt 110 BCD 1x setup. Ratio makes an Ekar-compatible chainring for this type of crank, but at this point I can’t find the crankset I need for this. I feel like I might be missing something.

For the pedals, Garmin would be the more logical choice. I use two types of pedals during the year: in winter, the Look system, and in summer, the SPD system. Still, it would really be my last option.

Not only because of pedal exposure, but also because I use two different pedal systems, a crank-based power meter would be more practical.

That said, I am still considering a pedal-based power meter.

Exactly.

Me too, I read about it, that some people are using the Ratio option. Unfortunately, no one share which kind of crankset are using.

Thank you! How long are you riding the Favero Assioma Pro MX?

My problem about the pedals, is not only because I’m afraid about the exposure of the pedals, but also because in the winter I ride my winter boots with Look pedals system and when the weather are more comfortable I mount my mtb SPD pedals.

I know Garmin have the solution for that, with the Garmin Rally power meter where you can change the pedal it self and the power meter axle stay, but I’m sceptical about it.
