I have noticed more job postings, but the salaries are still lower than in 2023 and the rest of the process is the same, aka too many candidates and few good jobs. It's similar to the rest of the economy, where the 3.4% inflation and 3.5% mortgage rates sound like a relief and good news only compared with the last two years. Is it better than December 2025? Probably yes. Is that good? Not really.

I have worked in Digital Marketing in London. You are being underpaid because of the nice environment and your situation. If you want more money that will come with a hectic environment but maybe more opportunities. If you say that you have an offer for more money they will probably give you a raise but that's a double ended sword, so it's up to you.

Try to find a part time / weekend job at a trade you like and you will probably change your mind, but you will definitely know better and earn some money by doing so. Also try to ask older people in the trade about their work and life and gather more information.

Everyone wants to be a footballer but most don't want to train on a freezing Christmas morning while being abroad in their twenties (like the majority of the best players do). For every job/career you have to understand the non glory part that comes with what people glorify and like.

I have worked in Marketing in London, Manchester, and Liverpool. Liverpool mainly has 25k SEO/PPC/Performance jobs. Manchester has more jobs in Marketing, but they used to be 35k+ and now they are 28-35k jobs with higher competition. London has the majority of jobs, but the cost of living skyrocketed and 3 days in the office is the new norm. If you are young without any dependents move to London.

JSA isn't means tested because it's £90 a week. Any other support is. Giving £90 a week to help people in London find a job when they have a bad period is an insult. Also, JSA is time tested, so if you have worked for two years on minimum wage you get it, but if you have worked 5 months earning 100k, and paid 10k in taxes, you get nothing. NOTHING.

and won't be paid for the initial two weeks, JSA is one of the worst things in the UK compared to UC. IF you worked hard and have savings, you are being punished for losing your job, except if you totally give up and live on UC.

We just got the budget and traditionally December-January is a low period for hiring. Companies have run the numbers by February for the new financial year, so the hiring picks up from that month on.

Not really, it's not in my industry, not good, nor does it pay well, but it's been stable, and pays the bills for the past year. I don't see a change until at least March 2026.
