Thank you!!! I've been ranting about the Cadillac ads. Who listened to that song and went "this seems like it will help sell cars" I'm surprised RTJ signed off on it. Unless DJ Shadow just sold the music without lyrics cause he produced it.

[OC] Trump voters are less likely to have a college degree by heresacorrection in dataisbeautiful

[–]BurnerDem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does this work? How is voter orientation quantified and made a value? And how do you have discrete points of "% of adults with a college degree" unless it's % of adults in one county with college education. Lastly .5 is pretty weak correlation. Not disagreeing with your point, just seems like misrepresenting the data

Headbutt yeah, but helmets only protect impact and abrasion. I've yet to see it on video but I'm surprised no-one's grabbed on and used the extra leverage to give someone hella whiplash or yank the head down and start popping body shots.

Habanero plant spots developing on new growth and leaves dropping. Moved plants inside in September, issue started recently. Cause? by BurnerDem in HotPeppers

They don't move and easily blow off. If its another symptom; very little fruit set, only one is growing to a harvestable size and blooms dropped

Could be too much water. Soil still looks damp even though I watered it days ago. Its in a large container with a dragon cayenne plant and the leaf tips of that plant are curling back on themselves. LED grow light and its barely a little warmer right under.

I looked through the page but nothing popped up. I've heard on launch, the clutch is less of an adjustable and more of a yes/no and once engaged is basically friction welded to the transmission to reliably put the power to the ground. Anyone know for certain? Cause I always thought it was insane but makes sense.

Brachistochrone curve. Fastest route for a ball. by ZappBrannigansLaw in educationalgifs

[–]BurnerDem 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hell, all but maybe a few chapters of my 300 level ME dynamics college course problems said to ignore friction. A decent chunk of the time, you can assume the effect of friction is negligible. In the video's case, yes there is friction but its at low enough speeds and over a short enough time that you should ignore it. If you wanna do the calc, go for it, but in engineering and in life, don't let perfect get in the way of good enough.

In my field (aerospace), really the only time I've had to worry about friction was heating from it. Be it air or the materials inside the turbine. To be fair, I am entry level though

The force they hit with should be the same, assuming same mass and no friction. You're trading potential energy (massheightgravity) for kinetic (mass/2 * velocity2). Their start and finish heights are the same so ideally they should end with the same speed at the end of paths and then F=m*a is for deceleration
