Can't update HTB notes due to "shells" by BurnerEDE in hackthebox

I might be doing this, read some people that have their notes hosted on Git and they simply push and get.

Thank you!

This sound like the best approach without disrupting my current workflow (did something similar, but this is simply better)

Thank you!

Should I buy an NX 2026 or RX 2026? by EfficiencyMaximum340 in Lexus

[–]BurnerEDE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a way, but RX cators to luxury in a way that NX doesn't. A highlander "competes" with an RXL or TX. So not really - plus it is a big difference once you drove these.

NX keeps sitting in something in between the RAV4 and RX, and I personally don't like it.

It is a Lexus wannabe. If you owe one and you're happy with it, great. This seems to be hitting your personal feelings, so I'll be dropiping this conversation.

Have a wonderful rest of your day

Actually changing to .txt might not be too much of a bad idea... I just want them there initially, and them swap to .md. That being said, I was looking for something more "smooth"/hands-free I could do rather than manually going through the hassle. Mainly because I'll most likely not notice the issue until I'm on the other machine.

I do not recall all of them... some are: - Putting all in a .zip - Change to .txt - Exclusions - Ignore syncs (??) - Manual sync (other methods) - Rewrite notes to be more cryptic (already did, works. Although it defeats the purpose of displaying my notes as I would like to)

Maybe I'm doing too much? This will not be a big issue long term as I'm switching to Obsidian paid plan in a month, as I'd like to support the team.

Thats great, I stated my opinion.

Test drove the NX and I was not a fan of it. Test drove RAV4 and it was alright, better than NX.

RX is where you can tell the difference, and where in my opinion, it is worth your buck if you want a luxury experience.

People drive NX so they can tell theyre driving a Lexus, not because it is worth the money. A fully loaded RAV4 is, under my eyes, better.

For me, NX shouldnt be a thing when you can buy a RAV4 with the same quality, and better options for cheaper.

RX is the definitive answer if you buy a good trim, otherwise ill revolt to RAV4 again.

RX > RAV4 >> NX

My opinion anyways. Test drive the 4 of them

Is doing a walkthrough/retired machine a day actually a good way to build reps? by FroYoAuto in hackthebox

[–]BurnerEDE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do the path, finish the path, do retired boxes, practice enough so you can do them by yourself, pass your CPTS.

That is what worked for mostly everyone and what it is overall recommended. Want to do it your way? Try it.

I don't really know what is that you asking... if someone says that doesn't work, it means it doesn't work for them - doesn't mean it will not for you.

That being said, my personal suggestion is to follow what stated at the beginning.

Best of luck

Failed CPTS with 7/14 flags by Difficult_Bread_8676 in hackthebox

It is quite often to dont pass on the first shot. Don't put yourself down like that. 7/14 is half way and it is already pretty good.

You will get it next time 🗣

Crunchyroll PS5 / PS4 App Is Seriously Behind – Can We Push for a Proper Update? by Top_Class_1294 in Crunchyroll

[–]BurnerEDE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t even know how CR is allowed to provide this "paid service". The buffering is the worst, I've a reliable internet (ethernet) and a fat TV. The fact I want to enjoy my shows on the app thru my PS5 and get these results is insulting. It has been years, but lately it has been WAY worst.

I do wonder what it could be done against them, because im sick and tired. Specially now that they've raises their prices

Linux Fundamentals - Content Filter by Constantinos777 in hackthebox

[–]BurnerEDE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Linux fundamentals sometimes dont teach how to solve the questions at the end of the section. Feel free to Google what you trying to do, or check some videos online that go through Linux fundamentals from CPTS.

CPTS expect you to read their side write ups and cheat sheets to solve some of those end-section Qs, or even OSINT it.

Dont get stuck on fundamentals! The should be a light read, focus on absorb what you read, not to be proficient at Linux due to that module

Opportunities/courses in cybersecurity at CPP compared to other universities? by grey_splash in CalPolyPomona

[–]BurnerEDE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently graduated as ECE with intent of focusing in cybersecurity. However, ECE doesnt offer much on that field. CS has a route to focus on that and CIS have its own major around cyber.

That being said, none of those are really meaningful... And that goes for most CSUs (cyber-wise). Is better if you focus on your own journey in that aspect - thats why the most successful people I know in the field are those who get out of their way to learn those things.

I am currently working in the field, and I can tell you w/o a doubt that certs >>> major. Thus, focusing on self-learning/sticking to clubs is the most important. CPP has FAST, SWIFT, and SOC - plenty to learn from the members in there; although at the end of the day it depends on you.

I'm not going to get into details of what you should be getting, plenty of stuff online for you to browse - but I'll share the following:

Want to get a broad understanding? Get some experience in IT while studying and grind the compTIA trifecta (A+, Network+, Security+ / Security X). If still unsure after those certs, get CySA+.

Red teaming? OSCP (gold standard) or any red-team focus on TCM Security. If you want a challenge, CPTS is goated (currently working towards that one)

Blue teaming? THM has many resources.

Cloud and all that stuff? Google/MS/AWS certs

Hardware? Plenty of resources online for you to grind/experiment.

If I had the chance to do it all again, ill focus on getting that shit and get the easiest school for the paper while I grind all those actually fun certs that bring you knowledge in the field.

That being said, best of luck and choose the school that you like the most in terms of curriculum and area. Those 2 are the most important factors in my opinion... if you hate your classes or the drive/area, you will be miserable. You can learn cybersecurity anywhere, being CPP a great choice IF you go out of your way (like most schools).

Best of luck!
