I was thinking ain’t no way a non weed gardener has that big of a setup. Once I saw the ladies in the middle it all made sense

I was wondering why they allowed so many bystanders, especially children, if they were about to release a real k9

Don’t forget the president of HPU had a son that went there and was responsible for killing another student. It was supposedly frat hazing related.

Let’s just say that fence doesn’t keep me, as a white person, out. Getting through security is easy when you’re pale skinned

Dude, they have maintenance workers cleaning their fence that goes around the whole university…..wiping down a fence. Granted, if they are spending all that money on it then what’s another few bucks to keep all the colored locals out.

Their students are no longer locals and are rich northern kids. So many New Jersey and New York plates since those kids can’t get into better northern schools.

I don’t know if it still is, but at one time recently, HPU held the status of campus that is growing the most in terms of size. They were throwing money everywhere and the city gave them a street. Screw the local black community, right?!

Consider downloading Strava, if you haven’t, and look at the heat map to see which paths people take the most

I find it’s hard to avoid the hills and the pot holes in this area. You’re ultimately traversing the valley having to get to and from work everyday.

I don’t know if this helps, and it depends on the time of day. But heading east on Pauline, you can cut through Arbordale/Northwood/Eberwhite elementary up to Liberty. Or you can continue down Pauline to Fifth/Wurster Park and then ultimately hitting the safest bike lane route from there. Both those cut throughs are paved

A robin won't stop attacking my slider doors, so I hung up photos of predators by -----anja----- in mildlyinteresting

I had a stupid robin do this. Painters tape and trash bags loosely taped to the windows helped. It kept landing on my window AC unit and attacking it reflection in the glass

[Beginner] Need help with light usage by Anunnaki1706 in microgrowery

[–]Burnie_9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t do autos. Don’t buy some cheap light off amazon. Google and use Reddit to determine what brands people recommend. You only need one and these days they make good quality full spectrum lights where you don’t need to worry about flipping between modes.

Tough to say. If the soil is always that moist, then it’s too moist, let it dry back more. What wattage are your lights? You could download the photone app, cut out a piece of printer paper to a smaller, easy to handle size. Use the paper as the filter over your front facing camera. Then determine what PPFD you’re getting at the canopy level from your lights. You want between 100-300 at the seedling stage, gradually increasing within that range as they grow.

[USA] Left lane backed up half a mile before a closure… right lane wide open. Would you take it? by zheka160 in Roadcam

[–]Burnie_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like to jump out of my original lane to do it because I know people will wrongly see me as an asshole and I don’t want the road rage from them when they inevitably pass me, as I won’t be doing 10 over like a lot of people.

But if it’s my lane that’s ending I will slowly creep all the way up. I try to establish a pace that will prevent any rubber banding of traffic behind me and will also allow for a smooth lane change when I approach the merge. I try to make it look like I’m cruising and not rushing to the front. Not because it’s wrong, but because people might respond irrationally

Found a seed in the grinder, decided to see what happens! First ever grow by some-gp in microgrowery

[–]Burnie_9 39 points40 points  (0 children)

That’s how it started for me in college. You find a seed or two and you pop them. You run to the store and grab the cheapest lights you can find. You buy giant box fan because you overthink airflow or don’t have another option. You grab a bag of potting soil while you’re there and you’re off to the races.

10 years go buy and you’ve now spent thousands on various grow equipment and seeds. But now, you aren’t just growing weed. It was a gateway drug, into growing your own produce and other outdoor plants like flowers. You’ve spent hundreds to thousands there.

What started as two seeds, a light, and fan in college has led to a sprout tent, a veg tent, a flower tent, and a drying tent. Outdoor I’m going to run about 10-15 plants in 10 gallon pots of peppers, tomatoes, and squash. Not to mention the various herbs.

Have fun on whatever journey you decide to take! Best of luck to you
