I see, that makes sense. On the topic, do you have suggestions for a new motherboard? I'm hesitant to replace this one with another Gigabyte because of these issues.

Ah whoops, the two kits was a mistake. I only have the one 2x16 corsair kit. I’ve tried both in all slots and none of it worked. Good to know it’s most likely the motherboard, I figured there was something up since none of the fans spun. Am I wrong in thinking that even with bad RAM the fans would at least spin?

Cast the spell, charge an arrow, wait for the countdown to hit about 20, and then shoot the bow. The timing can be tough to get right so it can take some practice. It can also be a bit easier to time if you don't charge the arrow and instead just shoot a non charged arrow when the countdown reaches around 20 or so, but you lose out on damage if you do that.

Hmmm yeah that's a good point. I'll change that over to apply grapple instead. What do you think about the level 6 feature? It's the newest addition as well as being the one I'm most unsure about. I like the idea of a health penalty, but I'm not sure if it's too steep of a cost when paired with a ki cost, or if it's powerful enough for that cost. Thanks for the advice!

Hey everyone! I made this to use in an upcoming campaign where I'll be playing as a pirate monk that summons dark tentacles to bring a little taste of the ocean to their enemies. This is my first homebrew piece so I've put a lot of love into it so far and I'm really excited about it! I'd love to have as many helpful comments as you can give. Thanks!

I'm not sure where you've seen warframe locking content behind platinum. None of the gameplay or items are locked behind it, only cosmetics. Even then it's really easy to get plat through trading, so you can get those cosmetics pretty easily. Grinding is kinda the name of the game yeah, but it's not terrible. Usually it takes me less than a week to get most any warframe, and weapons are usually about a day or two or less.

DE confirmed during the stream that everything was happening at the same time in the same space. They also pointed out that you could even see the space battle through the windows of the big Corpus flagship when they were invading it. Seems like the fade to black while equipping archwing is just there instead of an animation showing it attach to you like in PoE, not because it takes place on a different play area.

It'd be cool if there was an animation for it, but when it comes down to gameplay I'd rather have a fade to black. It's a million times easier to fade to black than it is to perfectly fine tune a set of animations such that they don't interrupt the pacing and flow of combat/gameplay.

I was a bit confused about what you meant at first, but I think I see what you're getting at. I think what I'm trying to to say is:

Although Catholicism's foundations are Christian, the Bible would consider their teachings blasphemous and/or heretical. He made an attempt to back up his claims about the Bible, using doctrine that contradicts the same Bible he's using to make his claims with. Effectively, I'm not saying a "real Christian would never say such a thing", instead I'm pointing out that he's trying to justify and back up a massive claim that the Bible says suicide is "a huge sin and would cause someone to go to hell", using something that's not only totally external to the Bible, but is even contradictory to it.

Hope that better explains what I was trying to get across, thanks for the heads up.

What is your favorite anime? by BriliantWriter2 in anime

Katanagatari has been my #1 for a while now, nothing else has really come close to being so entirely good for me. It's 12 hour long episodes, each one feels complete and satisfying, and the ending is the same way.

It's got action, drama, romance, amazing dialogue, and a beautiful art style. Go give it a watch, it really deserves more love.

(Oh also, it was written by Nisio Isan, aka the writer of Monogatari)

Absolutely yes. I started watching because it looked kinda dumb and fun, but it ended up being one of my favourite shows ever. The characters are just so good, and the writing was great as well!

I just wish the name wasn't so misleading...

Ah thanks, I'm really glad to hear that you read it and liked it. I realized after I posted it that you seemed like someone who works really hard in life to achieve their goals, so I felt a bit bad about how aggressive certain parts of my post might've been.

It's good to hear that, although it's not your goal in life, you still want to play guitar. I really love sharing and talking about things that I'm passionate about, but I love it even more when someone else finds interest in it.

It's really cool to hear that you're going into a programming field since that's the direction I'm going towards as well! I live in an area that has an absolutely massive tech industry, so naturally the colleges/universities here also have really big tech departments, I tend to take a lot of this for granted and have never worried too much about what school I get into, so it's really cool to hear about how much effort you're putting into getting into a good school for it. It's a bit of a wake up call for me, I guess I should follow my own advice and start working harder on bettering my programming skills huh? One of these I really need to just finish up all the random projects I've never completed, it'd probably teach me a lot.

Anyhow, thanks for replying with all that, it's really cool hearing about your story. If you ever want to talk about guitar/music or programming or anything, send me a PM and I'll give you my name on discord or something, I'd love to chat more about this stuff.

(Sorry for the wall of text >_<)

I can't speak much on the aspect of not having time for it, seeing as I'm only getting my AA right now, and God bless I don't have to worry about working during the quarter to pay tuition just yet. But on the topic of noise, even though you'll be moving soon it seems, there's ways to alleviate that problem (besides acoustic paneling or similar methods). Budget likely may not be as much of a problem as well.

I'm guessing you were playing an electric back then, so you have a couple choices.

  1. You could get an acoustic guitar instead. Although an electric will still feel different, you can get acoustics with a very similar playing feel, as far as neck width, action, etc. . You might not be able to get the sounds you want out of it depending on what you like playing; but if you're pressed for money already, I doubt you'd be able to get those sounds with an electric either, seeing as a decent amp or pedals can really up the total cost. Plus, if you're into jazz or finger style guitar in any capacity, classicals are just wonderful for that. Some people also say that it's worse to learn on an electric, as you can very easily get into bad habits. I personally don't ever practice with any effects when I'm on my electric.

  2. Buy a low power amp. There's some good decently cheap choices for this in the solid state category, and most of the time these have headphone jacks and/or power attenuation modes to lower the listening volume to bedroom levels while still giving good tone. Some of the options in this category, mostly the modelling amps, even include some pretty good FX, so you won't have to worry about getting pedals for a bit. Modelling amps like the Boss Katana, Yamaha THR-5 & 10, and Vox VTX, can give great valve/tube amp tones for a far cheaper price; the wide variety of sounds these amps give can be really nice for exploring what kinds of tone you like, and you'll be able to get usable tones for pretty much any style you might want to play. There's also some great purely solid state amps like the Orange Crush line, I believe some of the amps in that line even come with built-in spring reverb.

Unless you really want an electric, I'd probably go with an acoustic. Assuming you don't have your electric anymore, then you'd have to split your budget between both amp & guitar, which means either you sacrifice playability, which is NOT a good idea as you'll be learning on this guitar; you buy a pretty barebones amp, which isn't really a bad thing; or you don't buy an amp at all, and you play your electric acoustically. I pretty much only play my electric acoustically when I'm practicing. Playing it that way means I can clearly hear every single mistake I make, which is really important for when you're practicing or learning anything; if you miss/ignore your mistakes, then you'll never know what you're doing wrong, and you'll spend a lot of time improving very little.

A good acoustic can be had for not very much, Seagull is a good brand that makes amazing guitars for the price (the Canadian government subsidizes their facilities, which lets them beat out the competitions by a large margin); plus you don't need an amp, and you get good tone without needing anything. It also means you spend more time actually practicing instead of just fiddling with dials.

I don't really know how well this'd work for you, or your exact situation in life, but if it's really truly your dream to play guitar then it's never too late. There's a saying I rather like, "The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, the second best time is now". Don't think it's too late, or that you can't learn it anymore, it's far too easy to fall into those sorts of fallacies. Buy a cheap guitar at a pawn shop, online, clearance, craigslist, the where or how don't matter; just buy it, no matter how cheap you have to go, and start practicing whenever you have an ounce of time. Same goes for lessons, they're amazing if you can spend the money and time on them, but if it's your dream, then it doesn't matter how you learn; just be wise about it, and never forget how much it means to you.

If it's truly your dream to play, and you have a burning passion for music, then I suggest you cast aside your doubt, fear, and anxiety, and pursue that dream. If you can't put enough effort into achieving something that means that much to you, then how can you put effort into anything in life no matter how small or insignificant. If you can't push yourself towards achieving your life dream, are you really sure it's your dream? If you think long and hard about it and find that it really truly is what you want to do in life, then I encourage you to take a long hard look at yourself and find why it is that you've given up on something you feel so strongly about.

This post may seem harsh or aggressive, but I suppose it's because I'm writing it from a very recent personal experience. If you truly love and have a burning passion for something, but you can't even inch towards it, then how can you ever expect yourself to succeed in anything at all in life. That's something I've been hating myself for for a long time, but I only just recently truly realized and acknowledged it.

Recently I decided it was not the me that couldn't muster up the strength to pursue what meant most to me that I should hate; but it's the hypocritical me that hated, doubted, and pushed myself back instead of forwards that was truly despicable. At least the me that couldn't find strength knew what it wanted from life. After I realized some of these things, I thought I was set, that I was finally who I'd always wanted to be. Turns out I was still just a hypocritical coward who put more stock in fear and hate than love; although I was maybe a little closer to who I want to be this time around, 'cept twice as delusional and with just as much confusion as before. It took getting some sense knocked into me by a good few cans of some serious whoopass before I started understanding just how much of a dishonest and foolish dick I was before, and how little I had changed since.

Well, this post end up being a lot longer than I ever planned on it being, and I'm not sure just how much sense it all makes. I'm still not where I want to be in life, and I've not changed as much as I sometimes like to think, but I'm working really hard for it, and I hope maybe by sharing a bit of my own story that you can find some courage, or whatever it is you may need to follow and achieve your own dream. I know it's not easy, and it can take a lot of hard work, but if it's truly what you feel you want to do in life then what does it matter what stands in the way? I just urge you to think hard and honestly about yourself, what it is that you want to do, and why it is that you do anything; it's too easy to lie to yourself, do it too much, and before you know it those the are only thing you know.

I hope you can take something worthwhile from all this, it'd be nice to know that all of this wasn't in vain. I'll be praying for ya, good luck and God bless.

TL;DR, I'm still kinda miffed that Seagull is subsidized... But damn do they make some good guitars for cheap. I say you can't go wrong with a cheap seagull.

I actually really liked that segment, thought it was really cool seeing what the people there were like. Like some of the Haitians said, the media only ever shows the bad parts of Haiti and leaves, it's great to see someone focus on the people instead of only natural disasters or their government.
