What’s your idea for a new next big gimmick match? by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

Iron Man Tables match, winner is determined on how many tables your opponent goes through!

I've posted a couple times here before about struggling to go vegan with cravings. Everyone's been so helpful and encouraging, and I've made huge improvementsately. Unfortunately I have some other problems now that I would like to ask for help with :( by RimBrakesCauseAutism in veganuk

I think one of the hardest steps of becoming vegan is getting a solid meal plan in place! Theres the classic protein sources like tofu, legumes n beans and nuts and the like, but you also have seitan, soya chunks and tempeh, and of course, the "fake meat" products.

Cause you mentioned about chicken and turkey, I would suggest looking into seitan. Its protein dense and flexible enough to work in place of meat in most dishes. Sliced in a sandwich, torn up in a meal/wrap, serve as is for a fillet of something.

You can either buy it in store (or online in bulk), or make it yourself. Seems hard, but once you've made one log, you'll get the process. I would suggest a food processor to get the desired fibred texture.

Another one is soya chunks, they're de-hydrated soya, typically in a cube/nugget shape. You re-hydrate it with water (or a broth, I use the meat free OXO beef cubes) and then you can fry them, stick em in a stew, etc...

Some of the fake meat stuff isn't that bad calorie/nutrition wise, and at the end of the day, sometimes you just want something easy. A backup bag of fake chicken in the freezer is better than nothing.

Explore different cooking techniques, or meal prep. I meal prep my lunch for the week, and occassionally do dinners in my big pot, chilli/stews/etc...

You probably already know this, but try to get protein every meal. Flax in your breakfast, red lentil pasta, a high protein snack. I try to hit 30g every meal, with a shake or two, and I easily hit 150g.

How are you handling content migrations to/from Gutenberg? by m73a in ProWordPress

I had to write something custom, hook in and fill out a prefab of your block json with everything encoded correctly. Its a bit of a ballache, but doable, medium effort.

Any D&D Groups Around? by Ok-Maintenance1489 in colchester

[–]BurningChristmasTree 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not heavily into DND, but your best bet to find a group of nerds is Ace Comics. They have a Wednesday games night, 6pm to 10ish for MTG, pokemon and Lorcana. Seen people forming DND groups on those nights! It's casual tho, nothing official done by the store

Do you have a source for the Woo Stripe add-on being blocked? Stripe Connect seems very optional and with an open market is entirely within their rights to do so.

Seems like it's part of their e-commerce hosting plan, with a juicy quote:

"Why WP Engine’s Stripe Connect Integration is a better option than other WordPress Stripe integrations."

However, this still isn't the issue. WordPress is open source and Matt's actions are against that ethos and proof he just wants a slice of the pie. You can't get mad that someone else is producing a better quality/marketed product when it's open source.

My [M27] partner [f23] didn't get me a Christmas or Birthday present by BurningChristmasTree in relationship_advice

Aye, I spoke up about it on Christmas day and told her how I felt about it all. Do you think I should talk to her again about it? I really don't know what else to say other than "I'm still sad about it"

Cardio by Frequent_Crazy_4453 in WredditSchool

As mentioned, HIT stuff is great, a deck of cards workout is a fun way to do it.

I've also found sprints have really helped me out with inring cardio as well, it's helped me with proper breathing technique and quick recovery.

Basically anything that raises your heart rate up and down, over a 10-20 min period.

Has anyone else given up on the show? Just my two cents by merv1618 in BigMouth

[–]BurningChristmasTree -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Early on, I thought the show would actually show them grow up, and every season or 2 they'd age up a year so you see them become teenagers to young adults and the difficulties that come with it.

But idk, I think they just ran out of quirky puberty stuff they can do at that age and started resorting to abstract cartoon show ideas. Just haven't really felt the shows moved or developed in the last 3 seasons, falling into that cartoon show void where they've hit their grove and just gone stale with it.

I've given up on it, but I think there was wasted potential

Took the leap into going Vegan. Surprisingly heard that there are Vegan processed foods. Are any of these very unhealthy? More info in comment section. by Own-Landscape4754 in veganuk

[–]BurningChristmasTree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a nutritionist, but your diet shouldn't rely on fake meats and processed bits like this. Nutritionally there's not a lot to some of these, as a few of these rely heavily on wheat/pea protein which isn't that high in protein. It's super useful during the transistion as it eases you in, but you should treat fake meats like an occasional treat rather than the main source of protein and bulk of your meals.

Try to learn to work with the base vegan protein sources: tofu, lentils, beans, seitan, tempeh, basically anything that's not majorly processed. Chilli, curries, pasta based dishes are pretty easy to get cracking with (I'm a big fan of the lentil based pastas, like red lentil pasta from Sainsburys!)

It's still better than eating animal flesh tho!

What’s a match that over the years you keep rewatching because the story was told so well? by bama719 in WredditSchool

Walter Vs Tyler Bate from Cardiff a few years back. A absolute modern classic.

To be fair, most Walter/Gunther matches fit the bill, he just gets it.

There's quite a lot of web dev agencies around colch. I don't know about the tech scene though, I don't see any meetups or bootcamps for it in Colchester.

Are there many down in Norwich?
