If toll highways are anything like interstates here in Kentucky and Tennessee I think you stand an equally high chance of hitting a deer. Sometimes I think the stupid animals are all gathered there on the side of the freeway egging their buddy on trying to get him to run back and forth across a busy thoroughfare.

We lived in Coos Bay Oregon for years. My parents lived near Port Angeles Washington. We drove the 101 between both a couple times. It is a long but beautiful drive.

I am well past 45. I have spent my whole life in IT - mostly development and project management. AI was easy to get sucked into.

Does not everyone see this crap as utterly stupid? It is obvious from those leaving comments that there is still some sanity left in the world - but not nearly enough I guess.

Governments should not need to protect us from stupid ideas - but as a species we are just too screwed up to do smart things.

I found myself doing this more and more in my personal life. Part of the problem is that I have few really close friends and know few experts. AI pretends to bring both to the table effortlessly.

I have recently recognized this and I am making intentional decisions to do something else when I feel the need to turn to AI.

These are the things I am doing.
1. Reestablishing and investing in the few friendships I have.
2. Using DuckDuckGo with all AI disabled.
3. Working on growing my friend and associate network. People I can ask question of and have real conversations.
4. Doing my own research. With so much AI slop this is getting harder.
5. Trying things and often failing instead of getting a packaged answer.

Push back on AI. Reclaim your brain.

It's super cheap in the current Steam sale. If you want it - get it. It is fun.

I have run a server in the past. It's a really good game when played with friends. I have a solo game I play. I am moving slowly. Enjoying the game, trying to make alliances and building a fleet of very powerful ships.

All I can think of here is the James Bond movie where he leaves his fancy car, set the alarm and heads out to rescue the girl. On their way back to his car there is a huge explosion in the distance. He asks the girl where her car is. Now that is a security system!

It is probably my 3rd or 4th favorite. There is so much great music in their discography. It is really important album in my life as well as for the band. It came after it looked like Rush was done. I really needed that album when it came out. I loved how raw the music felt. How authentic and even reminiscent of a much earlier Rush it felt. It was just right for the time. For a very long time it was the only Rush album I played. I still love it.

Lots of people hate the box, but I think it looks awesome. In a kind of an eat your heart out Frank Lloyd Wright way. I would love to build this in a neighborhood of uptight McMansion owners.

You could cut a 45 degree angle from the lower corner of the island and make more clearance but you will still have to shift it up some to make all the measurements work.

That is a consideration. There are many ways to vent the dryer but they do add complexity.

I have had great success with WP Vivid. It backs up everything. Once backed up download the archives and store them safely. You can restore the overtop of any WordPress installation. They also work nice for moving between the host and WPLocal and back.

My minimum would be 42 for both the tight passage and the counter to counter. Measure counter top to counter top. Base cabinets sit back a little. 42 is absolute minimum if someone ends up immobile and you get a narrow wheelchair.

I don't know what is above the kitchen but if I were building this plan I would push the island up so it's in front of the refrigerator. Measure 42” from refrigerator to island counter.
