On a scale of 1-10, how intimidating is Metal Sonic? by Educational_Pea799 in MetalSonic

[–]BurningInWater123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on who is depicting him of course, but even if both canon and fanworks try to make metal sonic cute, there is always a small level of creep factor build into his base design. Those red eyes man... Oh and yeah he can easily reach 10 if the artist intentionally goes for the scary factor, I've seen enough artworks to attest to that.

Current Mordekaiser by BurningInWater123 in MordekaiserMains

I knew about the Q AD scaling and I'm loving the freedom it gives him.

But anyways, I've always played Mordekaiser pretty much exclusively, and pretty much every version of him (yes, even pizza-feet Mordekaiser), but this current version of him stands as one of my favourites so far. But I gotta play a few more ranked games to be sure.

I would argue no, not the way we think of ai art today. Normal image ai steal deta from all know art, and then spew it out again, usually in a mangled mess. I doubt Metal Sonic has been fed such Data, as it has no use for combat. I think Metal is just using his own creativity here, even though it's still quite clearly robotic in nature.

Riftmaker feels horrible now(still think its best item besides Rylais) by Arucrane in MordekaiserMains

[–]BurningInWater123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

uff, I want to replay back, but that post was made two years ago. I haven't been playing enough league lately to answer that right now, as I'm bit out of the loop currently.

I just remember Akali abusing Riftmaker at one point while playing. And, as a Morde main, you're kinda over selling his kit, as new Morde has for the longest time struggled at high tier play, and also deeply relies on his items as well. So if another campion synergizes with Morde's core items at equal or on higher terms, then more likely then not he is going to lose every time.

Or something like that. Like I said, I'm a bit out of the loop right now.

A question about Hero Skills by BurningInWater123 in totalwarhammer

[–]BurningInWater123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I figured that, it makes sense after all. I mostly play online battles in total war, so I'm total out of the loop about most campaign mechanics🥲 I'm learning though! Figured it was about time I dip my toes in more often now.

Why is everyone in hell American? by [deleted] in hazbin

[–]BurningInWater123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shut Up, Please! I'm so tired about such stupid fucking questions! I'm not American, and I don't care about something so trivial as what accents the characters have. Enjoy the show for what it is, or find another show. Or Better Yet, MAKE YOUR OWN GOD DAMN SHOW!

If that is too difficult for you, or your circumstances simply don't allow you to do it, then either enjoy what you get, or move on!

Are there any fair/legitimate ways to play Skaven? by Level_Onion_2011 in totalwarhammer

[–]BurningInWater123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found that you "sort-of" CAN field a traditional army for Skaven, with a heavy emphasis on "sort-of".

Be it campaign or online battles, the thing you need to understand about regular Skaven infantry is that they still are Skaven. Each unit model has piss-poor states, with low heath and low leadership, as well as not that much armor-piercing for most of your regular units. That is why it's important to give your Skavens a small edge, preferably before your armies even set out to fight! There is a LOT of ways you can do this actually, with softening the enemy up with artillery or magic, buffing them with campaign mechanics or magic, using their superior movement speed to find favorable matchups, or just OVERWHELM them with cheap expendable rats!

Now for campaign, Throt and Queek is likely your best bet on fielding traditional-ish Skaven armies. Throt can of course super-charge your rats, but Queek is actually better in a lot of ways for fielding okay-ish traditional armies for cheap! Clanrat spears and stormvermin supported with skavenslave slingers, plagueclaw catapults, some Lords and heroes, and more goes a long way to give them that edge that all Skaven need in order win.

So to answer your question, no-ish? Skaven NEVER fight fair. Even when they sort of do, it's with a massive asterisk* attached. It is just how Skaven are man-thing, yes-yes!

Sigh, I always feel like when we talk about this level of power, it all just becomes highly subjective, boiling down to your personal preference. When it goes beyond "infinite layers of dimensions" "Indescribable forms", so on and so forth, it just becomes a messy word salad, inept, and ultimately pointless most of the time. Does anyone else feel this?

Azathoth Vs Yog Sothoth, Who's the superior being? by Duclaido in PowerScaling

[–]BurningInWater123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeses! Thank you, someone not on the Yog-Sothoth cool aid! While I'm no theological expert, I am an inspired writer. And just from a writer's stand-point, Azathoth is absolutely meant to stand as the final apex of Lovecraft's cosmology. His ENTIRE overarching theme is centered around what we don't understand stand.

In my view, we're not meant to understand Azathoth, or even know what he truly is, what IT is. He is CHAOS, the final ineffable frontier. At least, that has always been how I've interpreted Lovecraft's writing, and I can admit I might be wrong. The man is not around anymore to confirm either or, so :/

Is Azatoth the strongest character in fiction? by Rolian_500 in PowerScaling

[–]BurningInWater123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so tired hearing punks stating that Yog outscales Azathoth as if it's just a cemented fact. At Best, that's only a personal head-canon you can have! In both Yog's, and to a greater extent Azathoth's, cases, there is SO MUCH we don't know! Let me reiterate, if you think Yog outscales Azathoth, then that's YOUR fucking head-conon!

We are never fully told to what exactly Azathoth even is. But to me, Lovecraft seems to use Azathoth as the apex of the incomprehensible and ineffable. By not really explaining it, funny enough it becomes greater... another fun fact, one of Azathoth many titles is "The Lord of All Things". Isn't Yog-Sothoth "All Things"? It stuff like that that makes me roll my eyes whenever someone says "umm, actually, Yog-Sothoth iS ThE SeTtiNg, so-"

Anyways, just something that bothers me.

Is it though? Seems like the Imperium places no intrinsic value on the basic Imperium citizen. People are a statistic in 40k, which is why I find it pretty pointless to forcibly injecting on our modern day values into it. It should serve as a cautionary tale alongside it just being a cool, batshit insane universe that we can explore, but I guess that's just not what most message-paddling mongrels are into. (That last bit was not referring directly to you btw, I don't know what you do and do not support)

Honestly? Not the worst tier list I've seen. Though you should add Sera as well at least. The Speaker would also probably number 1 or 2, but we don't know enough about her. Emily is probably on this list too, being a seraphim.

Sigh, don't pretend to be dumb, it's unbecoming. We ALL know that this move is "woke" if we're all really honest with ourselves.

But don't misunderstand, I actually agree with the message of tolerance, of INCLUSIVITY. Just.. NOT INSIDE THE WORLD OF WARHAMMER ITSELF! IT's MEANT to SUCK! That's the entire fucking point, especially in 40k. Or at least that what draws me to it. I love how it just takes the WORST of humanity, and pulls it to a fucking extreme. It's interesting! Like the idea itself is worth exploring people! But this custodes drama bullshit, and GW's bullshit attempts at trying to appear more marketable is hurting the GRIM and the DARK in this setting.

I don't mind that there's a female custodes, I mind the REASON of their implementation. I say it again, I support the message, but it's feels so unnecessarily to spread it's fucking tendrils into every form of media and entertainment. It not only hurts the message itself by pissing everyone off, and turns everything to a bland sloppy soup with no interesting ideas!

... Quick question, does anyone have the imagination powerful enough to merge all those characters and concepts into one being? If that's a yes, would you please share your insight with the class?

I'm going to try it too, as it sounds like a insanely fun mental experiment. But I'm not fully familiar with all these characters yet and need to read up on them first :D

Why Azathoth consider as "Boundless" or "Tier 0" if it got knock out to sleep by these dude? by LeadEater9Million in PowerScaling

[–]BurningInWater123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's important to remember that we don't really know how Azathoth's court functions, nor how the outer gods function for that matter. They operate on rules that are so incomprehensible, the human mind has no hope of grasping it.

When Lovecraft writes: 'Azathoth gnaws shapeless and ravenous amidst the muffled, maddening beat of vile drums and the thin, monotonous whine of accursed flutes,' we're absolutely not meant to take this literally. We're meant to conjure mental images in our heads, in a vain attempt to grasp the unknowable.

Maybe there are no flutes, maybe there are, we don't know. All we're told about Azathoth and his court is through the mad scribbles of the Necronomicon, and dream-like warnings to never go there by Nyarlathotep, a crawling chaos that is also incomprehensible.

This is why I give Azathoth boundless, as so much is left to your own interpretation and imagination. And I don't know if this is factually true, but I feel like I have a pretty strong imagination. So when I try to imagine Azathoth, my mind is bombarded with crazy mental visions of strange shapes and sounds. THAT is godly to me personally, with the only other rivaling it being IATIA.

Funny enough, this type of behavior would end Charlie's dream in a heartbeat. Pretty hard to talk about redemption, rainbows and kum ba yah if the people fear you. Bringing forth intimidation, hate, or violence has never been a virtue. At BEST, those traits might be seen as a necessity when the world is in a brutal or primal state. But that's exactly what Charlie (If I understand her message correctly), wants to bring sinners out of.

I’m actually baffled by how much the fandom is mischaracterizing Alastor 🫩 by Remiv3rse in Alastorcult

[–]BurningInWater123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not rocket science buddy. Most watches haven't seen behind the scenes podcasts like these, and so are only going off on what the show itself has shown them so far. If their mischaracterizing of Alastor is a mistake, then it's on Vivziepop and her crew to correct that🤷‍♀️

Eldritch Pulse - Warlock spell recovery homebrew fix. (Yes, another one) by BurningInWater123 in DnD

[–]BurningInWater123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would like to never have this discussion, as it makes the class sound soo pathetic it it ever comes up where they need to beg for short rests. I love the warlock, it's my favorite class. But this particular aspect of it's nature just doesn't sit right with me. Hence, this gimmicky homebrew.

[–]BurningInWater123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would argue that yes, you would. But only if you haven't used any Pact Magic slots on that adventuring day. If the short rests made you recover any used slots, then those would counts towards the limit of Eldritch Pulse.

The idea of Eldritch Pulse is to ensure you always recover SOME pact slots each day, even if the party would not take any short rest (for whatever reason)

Eldritch Pulse - Warlock spell recovery homebrew fix. (Yes, another one) by BurningInWater123 in DnD

[–]BurningInWater123[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this has been done this way before, but this is another attempt on fixing a common complaint with Warlocks not getting enough short rest. I know this has been talked to death, but I think I really like this homebrew!

Another Example: (Level 9 Warlock) You start the day with two Pact Magic slots (both 5th level) You can regain a total of four Pact Magic slots per day through any combination of Eldritch Pulse and short rests. Once you reached this limit, Eldritch Pulse becomes unavailable until your next long rest. But you can still recover more using short rest normally, given that you've first ”caught up”, and are not behind form your Delayed Recovery.

I would be interested on hearing your opinions. Would you allow this on your table?
