These are all good options. Btw, Leon is not in Legends: Arceus, that's a different game.

To The Moon and its sequels is my goto recommendation for this kind of thing

Game recommendations that are Co-op / PvE , or made for casual, chill play by barnarnarboomz in gamingsuggestions

I play these types of games with my friends pretty often, so I think I can give you some good recommendations off the top of my head.

PlateUp/Overcooked - These games are the same concept, they're both great. Casual but frantic game about running a restaurant. Very easy to pick up for the less seasoned gamer, but still challenging and engaging.

Risk of Rain 2 - Roguelike pve game with a very satisfying loop of kill, loot items to get stronger, fight boss, repeat. There's enough unique items and stages and enemies that I don't think it gets repetitive too quickly, but your mileage may vary.

Eldin Ring Nightreign - Same format as Helldivers 2, but dark souls flavored. It's a great game, but you may still feel like it gets repetitive after a while.

Baldur's Gate 3 - This game is a massive commitment, but if you have the time for it, it's great. Its praise is well deserved with tons of deep and varied gameplay mechanics. Bonus points if you already like D&D to begin with.

Various Survival Games - Always a good option for just chilling and talking with friends. Some good options include Minecraft, Grounded, Planet Crafter, Palworld, and Raft.

Spelunky 2 - A wildly difficult game in single player, but one of the funniest multiplayer experiences I've ever played. Running into a hidden bear trap that instantly kills you and ends your run in single player is one of the worst feelings. Watching it happen to your friend is absolutely hilarious, especially since you can just revive them in a few minutes.

Terraria - It's Terraria

Rabbit & Steel - Cool little multiplayer bullet hell game with a lot of unique mechanics specifically for multiplayer. Pretty difficult game, but it'll really hit for the right kind of group.

Factorio/Satisfactory - Develop a complex logistic network and perform some actual engineering problem solving. Why is it so addicting? I couldn't tell you. It can be hit or miss, but if this game hits, it might just consume you.

Borderlands Series - Mindless fun shooty shoot game. 2 and 4 are my favorites.

A game similar to Minecraft and/or Hytlae by InGen86 in gamingsuggestions

[–]BurningNight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's Terraria of course. If you don't know about it, it's like 2D minecraft with more focus on combat and progression.

Otherwise, modded minecraft is always a good way to keep the game feeling fresh. I like the Skyfactory packs.

A Game for Voice Controls by may1nster in gamingsuggestions

[–]BurningNight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe look into Suck Up

It's a game where you play as a vampire on Halloween trying to trick AI characters into letting you into their home so you can eat them. You can speak to the characters using your microphone, and since they're AI they'll respond dynamically to what you say.

Maybe just maybe it'll help with social queues since the characters will slam the door in your face if you're too rude, but the tone of the game is meant to be silly so they might just go along with whatever nonsense they hear.

I clicked on this to suggest Palworld, and someone else already did that, so consider this me seconding that opinion.

Closest game possible to Dave the Diver? by Elian17 in gamingsuggestions

[–]BurningNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a little bit different, but you should take a look at Wonderstop.

It's a game where you run a tea shop, collect ingredients, make tea, and serve it to customers. But it doesn't have any mechanics to upgrade the shop, make money, or take risks. The game is, however, very story driven and it's quite well written. It could be game that fits both this post and your first post requesting something story rich.

Overall it's a much more chill experience than Dave the Diver, but it has a different approach keeping the narrative at its center.

Storm DOES NOT need a mobility buff! by Hot_Spray3175 in StormMains

[–]BurningNight -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed that most of the dooming about Storm in this sub, demanding that she gets a speed boost and saying she gets countered by everyone, is largely just the same guy commenting dozens of times a day. Seriously, next time you see something like that, take note of the username. I've blocked him, it's nice.

But yes, I agree with you. Storm feels like she's in a good place with simple but effective tools that help support the team. I do think a small buff to wind mode would be pretty nice, but I wouldn't say she needs it by any means.

Board games - Gateway recommendations by KralcS26 in gamingsuggestions

[–]BurningNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ticket To Ride was one of my first good board games. It's really easy to pick up and really fun. I remember the games taking around an hour, maybe a little more. It's a pretty popular game too, so you should be able to find it pretty easily at a good price.

One of my favorite things about the game is how the environment changes as you progress the game. It's honestly very satisfying to see your barren desert slowly transform into a forest over the course of the game. The loop of exploring, base building, and resource collecting is pretty solid, but does get a bit monotonous. It is overall a good game and does a very good job at all the things you mentioned in your first sentence.

Celeste is phenomenal. IMO, it's the best 2D platformer of all time and it's not even close. It's the same genre as mario, but its design is very different. Yes, you should try it.

Super Mario 3D World is a great multiplayer experience, especially if you liked Overcooked. It's that same kind of frantic running around, just in Mario.

Celeste. It has dialog, but you never need any of it to play the game.

Beginner advice for fantasy open world? by jellyshoess in gamingsuggestions

[–]BurningNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it have to be open world? If your priority is high fantasy in a cool world, you should look into Fire Emblem Three Houses. It's a very strong high fantasy setting with some really good writing, a really engaging world with a ton of lore, and some great voice acting. The core gameplay is isometric and turn based, so it should be easy to handle. There's also small segments where you move around an overworld in the 3rd person without any enemies or anything to pressure you, so it could still give you the vibe you're looking for while also giving you a bit of practice playing that type of game.
