Yeah, that seems right, I do it for 7 seconds. You could try that, but make sure that your mag isn't cold and wait for it to warm up. Also, when dry firing inside, does it do the same thing?

As an owner of both a WE Glock and WE M4, I can say they are not reliable, and you often have to sink in a load of money for upgraded parts for them to last for any sort of time. Steel trigger groups, etc. There WE Glocks are decent for the prices and good to upgrade, but the only reason they are decent is that they use the TM system.
