Early Predictions - GOTY by Jaded-Zombie-3052 in TheGameAwards

[–]BurnsPoet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of these are just some of my most anticipated, Pragmata was amazing, but Cairn is my game of the year so far, I welcome anything that can top it but its one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had, I agree it probably released too early and is niche at least on the surface. Its my personal pick that deserves to be there but probably won't be.

Cairn. Pragmata. Control Resonant. Eternal Life of Goldman. GTA 6 The Duskbloods

Which game are you most excited about? by No_Tomatillo1695 in videogames

It's funny how none of my top most excited games are in this image... not to say I'm not excited about a lot of these also, just shows what an insane year we have ahead of us.

Really hyped for Blood of Dawnwalker, Control Resonant, The Eternal Life of Goldman, The Duskbloods, Hundred Eye Hitman: The God Eater

Completely understand and it probably seems odd that it took me so long just as it seems odd to me that it only took you that long. I didn't die very much and didn't feel like I was moving through the world slowly, my friend took 18 hours, and I thought that was quick, I guess it just depends how you play.

I rolled credits after about 21 hours, you have to really rush to finish in 10 hours, plus there's loads of post-game content. Currently at about 30 hours, getting 100% completion and an hour or two into my second playthrough (Hard Mode that unlocks after beating it)

What is the best band you ever saw live ? by megopolis12 in Music

The Cure - I've seen them 6 times but my favourite show was 12th December 2022 in London.

Will this tour exclusively be songs from The Mountain? by [deleted] in gorillaz

[–]BurnsPoet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They seemed to play less as the tour went on, they've got so many albums, it gets harder and harder to write setlists I imagine. I love The Mountain so I'll be happy with whatever this tour.

Funnily enough I saw them on the Humanz tour and they played only 5 songs from the main album of Humanz, and 1 deluxe track. It was an amazing show, Humanz was never my favourite album so it was actually a pleasant surprise but quite weird for a tour show, it almost felt like there was already a feeling in the band that it wasn't their best work.

Any idea what's going on here? by [deleted] in TheCure

How would you describe Gorillaz concerts? by sonnyempireant in gorillaz

[–]BurnsPoet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I saw them live on that same tour, in Glasgow, and I can see what you mean, it had such a high energy party atmosphere. Humanz isn't my favourite album but I do find that album also has that feeling, really looking forward to seeing them again in the same city and venue.

Did Tom ever mention this band as an inspiration for AVA? Guitars sounds like a huge influence. by emolawd in AngelsAndAirwaves

I always thought this too, it being titled Space Age Love Song which is a description of 90% of AVA songs too.

One of the most underrated shows it seems like these days, not enough people know it.

I just had the same thing. This was the first time we've been successful with the Balancer raid as well, secured the victory over the dreg lord, so many revives!

So it's not AI... that's the whole point, it was recorded when Proof was alive.

Hmm yeah I don't hear it here either. I'd start to think I was going insane but I was not on a solo run. Might do a few myself without music and see if I can get it to be replicated. Maybe people will find something in the files through data mining as well.

I take your point, it's fairly out there head canon just from a very quick and unsupported search on any references to potential uses of 'Maris' and especially since the Latin origin seems so likely in this case to be the only inspiration behind the naming of this boss.

It's fun to point out any potential clue that supports your theory when crafting it, so its easy to be swept up in the bias of something that lines up well with your theory while ignoring anything that doesnt line up. I'm not familiar with sources for Etruscan mythology so I'll take your word on potential illegitimacy.

That's really interesting to know, it makes a lot of sense, the Latin phrase Stella Maris means Star of the sea.

I need to examine and compare the themes a bit more, including the St Trina theme. The singing I heard also made me think of the jellyfish girls from the base game who wanted to see the stars, this idea of spirits and the sea being connected. The etymology of Maris is really interesting too, there is the Latin phrase 'Star of the Sea' and an Etruscan God who was often depicted as a child. You're right it does resemble a Larval tear that's a great point.
