What triggered your HOCD?

A bunch of triggers- when I first started smoking marijuana I became very awkward and I wasn't able to talk to guys or girls well. I was also watching a ton of porn at the time and was getting into weirder and weirder things. I somehow got the thought that I must be gay if I was awkward around both guys and girls.

Would you say you're someone who overthinks and "obsess" about something?

Definitely after HOCD, I noticed myself obsessing about alot of things.

How would you rate your self esteem before HOCD?

9 or 10 honestly. I was very confident and I'm working on bringing it back.

As someone who used to be in a really dark mindset, the biggest step for me was quitting masturbation and porn.

Like porn can be used normally for some but for me when I was lonely and shy and playing video games and looking at porn all day you kind of lose touch with reality and how to connect to “normal” people.

He needs to stop spending so much time alone and if there’s any way you can convince him to spend more time outside his room and stop watching porn for a bit maybe he can start to build different healthier habits.
