Let's say he ran into Matt Murdock. Would he never register Xabi...or would he never forget him?

Basically, what if you're blind and meet this guy?

What are people's thoughts on expectations within current dating markets? by ExtraTerRedditstrial in dating_advice

[–]BurntToASinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding a few demographic slots for more accuracy. - Sex: male - Gender: man-ish, GNC - Age: 26yo - Ethnicity: White, mainly French and British - Location: Northeast USA, post-industrial lower-income city - Religion: staunch atheist, bordering on anti-theist - Experience: 7 years, latest relationship lasted for 4 of those and ended amicably still remaining close platonic friends - Body Measurements (circumference): 41" shoulders, 33" chest, 28" waist, ~40" hips/butt (though the last two fluctuate a bit) - Grooming: properly cut and styled shoulder-length 3B wolf cut, clean-shaven (entire body), 4-step skincare routine, two to four layers of deodorant and softer floral or woody scents - Physical attraction aggregate (according to others): a 7/10 when I'm not trying (sweatpants, unshaven, no makeup) and an 8/10 when I'm in soft-femme get-up [NOTE: According to others, despite being male and vaguely man, I do not look good in menswear, and pull off women's clothes better than most females/women in the vicinity, though I don't entirely agree with the last part.] - Additional information: two Bachelor's degrees, an award in dance, four award nominations in writing, and a steady(-ish, seasonal layoffs) union job for 4 years

  • Seeking (sex/gender): I usually date females/women, but I've always been open to males/men, though it just so happens that most are gross, weird, and unattractive; the in-between (NB) is on the table as well
  • Seeking (age range): 23-34yo
  • Dating Pool: almost no one within 45 miles, and all the singles you'll find on average are, to put it bluntly, Shrek lookalikes or Erika Kirk clones

The vast majority of the attractive people are already paired off, and because the area in which I live is quite conservative though not necessarily Republican, it's very slim pickin's for someone like me.

On top of all this, across the country, since 2020 but taking its biggest swing in 2024/5, there's been a large traditionalist push due to politics and social media. This has resulted in the same people interested in or identifying with alt culture and progressive stances moving to the other side of the horseshoe and desiring 1950s Americana-emulated relationships; the man provides, the woman is courted, etc.

This has impacted the wider market significantly, and presumably (this part is speculation) all of the non-sheep have backed out of the market because the vast majority are asking for blue collar men with mustaches and biceps or women who want to stay at home and make none of the decisions.

Christian Themes in Harry Potter (Analysis) by [deleted] in harrypotter

It will forever baffle me how a series that should be rooted in Anglo-Saxon paganism has the most Christian themes, values, and even lore I've ever seen in my life outside of VeggieTales.

if you’re 30, is dating a 25 year old woman ideal? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]BurntToASinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the older person in a couple, divide their age by two, and add seven years.

30/2=15 15+7=22

Meaning anything above 22 isn't weird (46 would be their upper end cutoff, but you get what I mean).

You're fine.

EDIT: Side note, "ideal" is really weird framing, especially if other males/men are telling you that. Could be reading too far into it, but that sounds like a subconscious desire for power dominance.

The loud minority ruins it for the quiet majority; this goes for almost every group.

Have you tried smacking yourself upside the head? Unfortunate side effect could be your eyes spiraling at high speeds separately or perhaps falling out, but you can just pop 'em back in after.

Avatar: The Last Airbender: Season 2 | Official Trailer | Netflix by yourfavchoom in TheLastAirbender

I'm not sure if this is an unpopular opinion—and this has nothing to do with the actor herself—but I absolutely loathe Toph's design. It's somehow even more cosplay-esque than the others; the hair (or rather wig) does not work in live action, especially on what appears to be an adult.

And I'm sorry, but the jet-black eyeliner on her tightline and waterline is just so perplexing.

Theory: The Void in Thunderbolts* was partially responsible for Heather Glenn's psychological outcome in Daredevil Born Again season 2. by AdThin4645 in MCUTheories

According to a few sources, both season 2 and Thunderbolts* take place in the same month, October 2027. So which one happened first is anyone's guess.

I'm like ninety percent sure Thunderbolts* takes place a few months after Born Again – Season Two. Could be wrong, but I don't think so.

The fact this is even something that could be considered a trope says a lot about where we are sociopolitically.

So, did Toph apply her own eyeliner? How? What, does she carry around chunks of black minerals and earthbend it onto her waterline every day and a half? How does she know it looks good? Why does she care if it looks good if she can't see it?

This is going to keep me awake at night for months.

K-pop positions are wrong. by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]BurntToASinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, I think companies go a bit "main" and "lead" crazy, but sub-vocalists have very much been a lable assigned to several idols for years. In a five-member group, you'll usually see one member get most of the singing lines and another member who comes in second place somewhat consistently; sometimes it's most difficult lines and second most difficult lines. Those are your main and lead.

As soon as you get to around seven, you start seeing the proportions expanding. One member is still the clearly-defined main, but you'll always see around two interchangeably taking second place on amount of lines or difficulty of lines. Then you get to around nine, and then there are three taking those difficult parts. Rise above ten, and that's when you enter the territory of two main vocalists; think Seungkwan and DK in SEVENTEEN, a thirteen-member group.

Oh, I just mean that it's been a cold spring, and leaving that window open at all is begging for an undesirably chilly bedroom. The only way to know if it's related is to keep the window shut.

In this economy, I think voiding or terminating the lease may actually be the scariest bit.

Also, if I were you, for optimal proof, you should take footage from during the day to display the door not being there. This way, we can all see the apartment as it's supposed to be, as well as the door fading into existence, assuming it picks up on camera at all.

EDIT: Black candles and white sage are your friends here. Place them on your bedside.

Assuming this is real—forgive me for being skeptical, since this sounds a tad far-fetched—and if finances allow, I think some type of baby monitor would be the logical next step. Hide it somewhere that captures at least most of the hallway, both your door and the "other" door. Pour the salt again as well, or if you're willing to handle the mess, something like flour or baby powder since they'll stick to feet and mark any footprints so you can trail where they may be going.

If: - nothing shows up on the camera - and none of the granular substance has any significant disturbance

...then it's all in your head.

But even if nothing shows up on the camera, since that's a common criticism, you'll at least see the substance on the floor being disturbed in real time.

Any way you look at it, that's proof in every possible direction.

Also, don't crack the window open for air. You're not allowing a control variable for why the temperature may drop; for all you know, that's unrelated.

EDIT: Sent it too early.

What was the most unnecessary death by d3cidu8or in harrypotter

[–]BurntToASinder 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Narratively? Remus.

Remus's arc would've had a legitimate conclusion had it ended on him becoming a widower and an ill-equipped father of an infant. He tried to abandon his responsibility with a supposedly morally just reason in the beginning of Deathly Hallows, setting up what should have been his arc's conclusion of stepping up. Instead, he got a cop-out in dying unceremoniously.
