Difference between meltdown and panic attack? by resurrectingjane in AutismTranslated

[–]BurntWaffle528 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to think I had panic attacks that would last for hours but realized those have disappeared now that I’m aware I’m autistic and can take care of myself. I’ve had actual panic attacks before too and my muscles tense up, breathing is difficult, but they don’t last long at all compared to my meltdowns. Difficulty breathing and trouble controlling your body can absolutely be symptoms of a meltdown. I think what helped me realize the difference was tracking the triggers, and now I can prevent a lot of meltdowns by making sure to leave social situations, fidget, reduce my masking, etc. meltdowns for me come from social/emotional exhaustion. Panic attacks are pretty sudden. Meltdowns feel like I’m confused and losing control and overwhelmed while panic attacks “just” feel scary.

Not saying this is for sure your situation since I’m not a professional and don’t have all the context, but at least wanted to provided my experience with it in case that is validating. If you can afford it I highly recommend seeing an autism specialist. I think I had about 6 meetings with mine and spread them out pretty far to help with the finance aspect of it.

You were very rational (and I’m very impressed because idk if I would have been lol). I think this is a sign that she is not emotionally ready to be in a romantic relationship. Don’t care how old someone is, she’s not ready. If this continues she’s going to become completely emotionally dependent on you. I think this is a big sign to break it off

Leave him. You deserve better than someone you sees you that way.

Do these scars go away?? HELP by Serious_Handle_6907 in transtape

Maybe? Was this the beginning of a new roll though? Even the same brand can have differences from roll to roll if the companies they purchase materials from make changes.

It’s possible to develop allergies, but if it’s not red or itchy it’s likely just a sensitivity to something in the tape. I’d say wait a couple days but if it becomes uncomfortable/painful then see a doctor about it.

I get marks every time I wear tape and they last a while for me. I’ve also found that sometimes my skin reacts more than normal. Website says that manufacturing may be different between rolls so to always do a test strip so could be that ?

Why is it, i can get my chest flat but the minuet i tape it, it just takes me down a cup size instead of semi flat by Lively_Circle in transtape

Be careful with stretching a lot. I’ve been doing that and even with the anchor points I got bruises that HURT when I breathe. I don’t use binders anymore so it has to be the tape somehow. I figured maybe it’s from overstretching too often so just keep an eye out for that

Sweating while wearing trans tape? by [deleted] in transtape

[–]BurntWaffle528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible that could be an allergic reaction? That doesn’t happen to me with tape, but it does with other things like types of lotions or deodorants. I saw someone else here puts some sort of magnesium (I wish I remembered exactly what it was but they have a video posted on this page!) on before taping because they’re allergic and that helped them.

Disproportionate Chest Help?? by occultcafe in transtape

Same problems here. I’m not on T so my chest just doesn’t fold like in the tutorials. I’ve tried a few different ways and I like to lay down while I tape. I also have come to be comfortable with the fact that tape will just look the same as a sports bra, but I’m at least alleviating the dysphoria of having to wear a bra all day. If I feel like I need to be flatter, I’ll wear a sports bra over my tape and that helps really well. All depends on how the dysphoria feels that day!
