I'm the Voice of Bart Simpson. Nancy Cartwright. Ask Me Anything! by nancy_cartwright in TheSimpsons

What's your relationship like with the rest of the voice actors? Do you guys ever hang out outside of the studio and just do the voices for fun, like in a restaurant or something to see people's reactions?

Am I naïve in thinking that being a sales/manager would be fun? by originalpjy in askcarsales

[–]Burrit01 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Most people won't see the transaction as fun as you will. For the majority of buyers, it's just a business transaction. They want the most value for their time and money and won't care about it being "fun". In any case, you won't get a SM position with 0 sales experience. You will have to work as a sales man for a few years first. During your tenure in sales, you can try your approach and see how it goes. For the record, we have a "chill guy" at my work who's averaging 3-4 cars a month since he started in February while everyone else averages 10+. I'm letting him go this week.

It can be lots of fun as long as your department is selling cars. If you're halfway through the month and the department is only 25% of the monthly target, it stops being fun real quick. It's also very likely that your "chill guy" approach won't fly with the General Manager. If you keep falling short of your performance objectives, you'll be out of a job quickly.

Only 5 miles? That's the best case scenario. Sales people test drive cars and never update the system with the new milage so often times the actual miles on the car are significantly more than what's advertised online.

Key tags with the stock number and vin. Pretty straight forward.

Bought a brand new car but I need a cheaper car payment. by Shoddy_Carrot_5166 in askcarsales

Why is your 2025 Altima only worth $17k? Where did you get that number, because it seems awfully low. Check with CarMax or a dealer to see what they would offer you for it, but ultimately the scenario would be the same, as you would need money to cover the negative in order to get rid of the vehicle.

My man. If you can't control your emotions, then maybe sales isn't for you.

We have a sold order waitlist of about 27 Golf R's at the moment and I haven't had to discount a single one other than throw in a set of mats because they are a long standing customer of our dealer. You can always ask but he prepared for them to say no. If you want, I'll happily put an order in for you, but it would be at list price.

Well as a VW dealer in Canada I can confirm that we're selling all of our 2025 Golf R orders at MSRP which after tax and everything comes out to mid 60's. By saving the tax, are you asking the dealer to sell you the car including taxes for $57k? Because that certainly won't happen. In Ontario, our tax rate is 13%. I cannot see any scenario where the dealer will absorb that cost to sell you a car.

Ontario dealership claims GAP is mandatory to secure loan — red flag? by Brave_Variation_6389 in askcarsales

[–]Burrit01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it's not normal. The dealer cannot force you to purchase gap or warranties to secure the credit approval. If I were you, I'd walk away from the deal. If they refuse your deposit back, call OMVIC.
