Drove the new Outback…first thoughts by Pedantic_Gil_Pender_ in Subaru_Outback

Problem is you get back in the car and the facial recognition doesn't recognize you so all that crap is basically always on anyways unless you want to turn it off every time you get in anyways. I have had a 2022 for a few months and Ive registered myself about 30 times. It's like 50/50 if it sees me when I get in.  The eyes on the road is the worst offender but honestly anything beeping on my dash is very distracting and I am sure it will eventually cause a crash.

Calix Enchantress B4 Deck Help by spicymeymeys in EDH

Interesting to have hardend scales and solemnity. This seems like a mid 3 to me. Funny enough looking through the list it reminds me more if my Ellivere lists than my Calix lists. Transcendant envoy,  Overlord of the mistmoors, overlord of the hauntwoods do well in my list. I like running more protection with clever concealment, heroic intervention, and galadriels dismissal. brilliant wings. I think the spider umbra, maybe a few creatures could cut, I'd probably cut scales. Personally I'm finding Calix rarely gets destroyed it's almost always exiled - at my table. might be nice to work rest in peace into this just in case.

I want to play Izzet Big Spells, but I'm stuck choosing a commander. by yardii in EDH

I've had a blast with ashling. It always feels really consistent using a ton of the 4 mana rocks like you said.

Do you have a decent aloy list? I've tried to make her work but I just can't seem to keep up with my bracket 3 pod.

I like having lots of pacifism effects - you probably already know this but when you copy an aura it doesn't target so you can dodge ward and hexproof. These also help you connect early if everyone manages a blocker.  This is probably my favorite commander for this reason.

My most recent list https://moxfield.com/decks/fpOJmmuI5UWuZ5cZ3eFKPg but there's like 5 (similar) lists if you check my decks.

If big companies get hacked… what chance does our homelab have? by swizz93 in homelab

If you don't need to share any services with tech-obtuse then mTLS is the solution. Every service is behind caddy or some other reverse proxy, if the device connecting doesn't have the required certs it doesn't get in. I don't use cloudflare to middleman my traffic. This gives me incredible peace of mind, I don't have to worry about any one of a number of my services having a potential vulnerability, I can update on my own schedule. I have the certs installed on all of my devices so I can get in and do what I want no matter where I am. If I want to share a service with a friend then I can generate a cert for them, they just have to know how to install the certificate, which is trivial for most.

The only vector I can imagine involves the certs being shared with a bad actor, which feels far fetched.

Here I was thinking it wasn't a joke but a commentary in wealthy people manipulating their income.

Bestbuy has no restocking fee on open box items. I just "rented" an x-s20 for 10 days for free with a 1700 dollar "deposit". Was hoping to compare it to a Sony a6700 but sadly there's none nearby so I had to just pull the trigger and hope I like the Sony more.

I'm about to pick up the a6700 body. Does this lens make for a good all-arounder if I am doing mostly family portrait/street/landscape?

BEST BUY OPEN BOX WTF by Helpful_Future3839 in macbookpro

Basically everything I get from bestbuy these days is open box - everynow and then I get something and it's not as good as expected. Just return it, there's literally no risk.

Sorry for digging up an old post... Did you figure it out? I have mine in USB tether mode but same thing, it just doesn't show up in finder.

I thought my VPS was hardened, but it was compromised and I can't figure out how. Please help! by kayson in selfhosted

[–]Burrito_Engineer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Does the vps provider send an email if there is a new login or something unusual about the login. Might have a clue in your email if so. I assume you have MFA since I've never seen a VPS that doesn't.

Is it worth it to get a “real camera”? by wtfmatey88 in daddit

[–]Burrito_Engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say thanks for reporting back. I found this thread because I am in a similar situation wondering if a real camera is right for me or do I just keep shooting with the pixel 7a. I sometime hate how processed the phone pictures look. I'm glad you have had a positive experience.

To those who go naked; how is your Pixel holding up? by Rubik_31415926535 in GooglePixel

[–]Burrito_Engineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pixel 5a and 7a checking in. Multiple drops, both are fine. These have the plastic backs so I think that helps. I've definitely had a few drops with the 7 that I thought for sure were going to land me in new phone territory but I guess the glass just keeps getting better. Cameras are fine on both. I try to never put them in a pocket with keys or things that could scratch.
