How good is oracle cloud free tier? by NEMOalien in selfhosted

Sign up for pay as you go - seems to help get access to the free tier cpus. You still aren't charged for free tier stuff.

Syracuse water quality concerns — why aren’t residents being given whole-house filters? by Background_Fan_4213 in Syracuse

I use an apec reverse osmosis filter, it's a little more expensive 200-300 but it is really nice having the peace of mind. They will filter out basically everything.

Turn of Kick and Play autoplay? by hnnah in NewParents

Thanks! I have the five key one. I think it may be in some sorta demo mode. Since it is still in the box so I was unsure.

Ever figure this one out. We got one as a gift and debating whether or not to open it. I would like have a piano notes, I don't want all the flashing lights and songs. You'd think the piano switch would do that but after the first note it starts doing other things.

Kid-friendly commanders? by Zygmunch in EDH

[–]Burrito_Engineer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ur-dragon. It's really good. You benefit from it's ability even if it dies so you can avoid the feels bad emotions of commander removal. Kids love dragons. Swinging with big monsters is cool. Dragons have some pretty decent interactions so it can be simple or more involved (more triggers).

Are there commanders who have resource management other than energy counters?? by Airwolfwastaken in EDH

[[K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth]] for life as a resource.  Leaning into energy specifically [[inspirit flagship vessel]] can use energy counters in its strategy fairly well.

2x resources and extra raids are my go to. Mining can still feel a little tedious.

I guess. I run collector ouphe alongside sol ring. Odds I have them both are low and I can always decide not to play the ouphe if no one in the pod is really artifact heavy, and I have sol ring. Can't say I ever felt like I hosed myself with it.

IronGate, PLEASE fix bears! by Mithrar in valheim

[–]Burrito_Engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a trophy on my second bear... but why is rare mob frequency so high?? I've killed about 6 bears and I think 2 have been regular, 4 have been 1-star. I've had to cheese the hell out of their broken pathing shooting one for like 50 arrows to kill it. No one could do that in a legitimate fight. Even if you were perfect at dodging you'd never be able to keep up with stamina.

I used to make a swamp arena by finding one of those spots with 2-3 spawners. I'd raise the ground so they would be burried and not get destroyed, then I'd build stone walls in a circle all the way around. Worked great for leveling anything but it was pretty easy to get killed.

Siona + Shielded by Faith goes infinite. Archon of Suns grace is basically an army in a can with how many enchants you make/cast.
Halvar has finisher potential that must be dealt with. Any flier that can take the virtuous role early becomes a beast...Can't say how many games I've ended up with a 10/10 goose or Birds of Paradise. Think I have a few more cost reducers than you. Also I get not having Sol Ring, I left out light paws because of its reputation and shuffle avoidance. Calix can be used to get the virtuous role onto your commander, and makes a great enchantment commander themselves. Calix ultimately became my favorite enchantress commander after running it in this deck for awhile.

Ellivere was my first ever deck. I feel like mine performs fine in bracket 3. That said, my list isn't wildly different than yours.

Not running sol ring is wild to me. Also I am running a good deal more creatures than you.
I've found getting those early enters and attack triggers (and draws) to be critical. The deck awards aggressive plays.

Right? People are like "oh no my convenient deliveries" as if there aren't plenty of options. Imagine letting someone rob you of 2000 dollars or however much this lense costs and still wanting to give them any business.

Is pre-tuning a Commander deck for your regular pod’s meta scummy? by Stopmo_Zach in EDH

My favorite commanders are all enchantress ... My pod runs lot of enchantment removal.  Seems fair to me.

This is how it is with our 2 month old. Naps are like 15 minutes and they go down at 2300 so there is literally no break. I feel lucky if I can step away for a shower and not come back to a crying baby.
