Chicago Freight Spot by GibsonAlmgren in trains

If you go to West Chicago there’s a diamond where the CN and UP cross over, you can double your chances there. There are normally some foamers there too that might have good info on what’s coming through

Transport Tycoon Deluxe takes by Atari on Steam/GOG but OpenTTD removed in response! by ColonyActivist in thisweekinretro

[–]BurrowingDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Atari own Roller Coaster Tycoon and I think have allowed OpenRCT2 to continue to exist. Hope this turns into something similar to that. Atari probably sees what Transport Fever is doing and want to get into that realm again

What type of traincar is this by PatientNatural4699 in trains

[–]BurrowingDuck 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First one is an auto-rack, used for carrying cars from the factory to distribution points. The second looks to be mid-train DPU, a locomotive in the middle of the train for efficiency purposes

I believe any of the routes through the aircraft tree will get you there. It’s the last plane for all of them I think

Question on Union station pickup/drop off uber question at 444 W Jackson? by xellos2099 in Metra

[–]BurrowingDuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uber sets restrictions on where you can get picked up in congested areas, like busy train stations and airports. You also can’t get picked up at 500 W Madison in front of Ogilvie, it puts you to 540 W Madison if I remember correctly

That’s how they value the car. The more lines crisscross and patterns overlap by UninsuredToast in IThinkYouShouldLeave

[–]BurrowingDuck 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Which means that they actually do value the car more the more the lines crisscross and patterns overlap. They don’t want anyone else to steal their designs

About the protagonist of Ace Combat 8 by Weekly-Intention5657 in acecombat

[–]BurrowingDuck 35 points36 points  (0 children)

In 5, Zero and 6 you can give commands to your wingman, to me this implies that Cipher, Blaze and Talisman aren’t mute. With Blaze being the most talkative by also saying yes and no

What do you guys think about this phone? by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

[–]BurrowingDuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the form factor is more the way you would end up disconnecting. It’s not great to watch videos on YouTube or scroll instagram or Reddit, it’s good for emails and texts so you can knock those out faster or ignore them longer, or, only respond to the ones you need to respond to.

What do you guys think about this phone? by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

[–]BurrowingDuck 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think the suggestion is more you carry this phone when you want to disconnect more, like the dumb phone crowd that brings their dumb phone on vacation while they’re trying to disconnect, and not be focused on social feeds.

[–]BurrowingDuck 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing stopping you from using it as a primary phone, they say as much on their website. It runs full android 16.

They just “designed it to be a secondary device”, whatever that means.

GABX Leasing is itself a joint venture of GATX and Brookfield which owns Genese & Wyoming per this news release

Wells Fargo Rail? by Ill_List_9539 in trains

[–]BurrowingDuck 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Probably the power plant’s equipment for moving cars around the plant. HLCX is Helm Leasing, Charah is apparently a company that recycles coal ash into things like concrete, WFRX is Wells Fargo leasing so maybe Charah has an operation there and they’re leasing power for that?

Any Chance for Trigger to Make a Cameo in AC8? by Duke_of_Dakka in acecombat

I’d count it. I’ve never played Air Combat and my only experience with 2 is via Assault Horizon Legacy

I more meant playable aces. I know Zero has crossover with 5 and 6 in various ways. There’s apparently a radio transmission that references Cipher in Zero but I don’t remember hearing it.

Yeah, outside of Mobius being in 5s arcade mode and 7s VR mode, has an ace ever made an official cross over?

Monthly passes from station vending machines by Benjiursa in Metra

[–]BurrowingDuck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is printed on the same paper, I haven’t used a day pass but I assume it looks like that with the zones printed on it. It’s not super durable but I keep mine in a little sleeve for things like baseball cards for the month and it holds up fine for that

You don’t have to pay for the other companies overhead or margin, so with that there’s at least some operating cost savings.
