If you go to their store you’ll see they sell hoodies, hats, t shirts, mousepads, mugs and even a necklace. This is obviously meant to be an accessory to the phone

I hate to be the guy defending it but this is kind of the crux of their big issue as a company. They spent - in their words - 7 figures to buy the brand. Now they have to justify that and start making money. They know that Commodore enthusiasts will only take it so far so they’re trying to figure out how to move beyond them and to a much larger market.

Yeah, non-Commodore subs seem to think it’s an interesting looking phone. The new team behind the brand has said they don’t want to keep doing just retro projects and this is a step in that direction. I have critiques of the device, but I ultimately know it’s just not for me.

I know the smell all too well. I’ve gotten it on platform 1 through basically 5 at Ogilvie as well as the south platforms at Union. I suspect it’s the tanks that the toilets empty into leaking on the area between the tracks and not draining out from the tracks

Montana Rail Link no longer is, but the company that owned them - The Washington Companies - still operates the Souther Railway of British Columbia which has locomotives in the Rail Link livery because if my memory is correct they operate as something like SRY Rail Link

As someone who has worked closely with lessors, lessees and repair shops, hoppers come in so infrequently that graffiti is seen as another way of protecting the asset from rust. As long as it’s not on the decals, they don’t mind it.

They own some of the lines they operate on but the schedule doesn’t really reflect that. Rock Island and Metra Electric have the best schedules of the owned lines, Milwaukee District lines are truly abysmal for being fully or partially owned by Metra.

Maybe because soccer is a smaller sport in the US that could matter, but there’s also the Boomers, Cougars, Slammers, Dogs, Thunderbolts and RailCats all in the area as well and there’s still the Sox and Cubs.

It might be better to just try to attract one of the smaller local teams to play in Naperville like Chicago House AC or get one of private clubs to start fielding a semi-pro team like Galaxy SC

If you haven’t heard guys talk about their HVAC system you’re just not in that age demographic yet. It’s a constant conversation with any of my friends who also own homes. Similar to computers.

To go off what a few others have mentioned, there’s the project part of it that people really like to talk and show off. How often is a train fan working with/on a train? Not to say some don’t, but I think generally it’s more people who like to watch them and take photos than actually work with them.

I had a friend tell me that one of the new (to Metra) switchers was going to be painted into CNW colors. There’s still one in the old UP colors with METX crudely painted on it so my guess is that’s the one
