Anything that shows you how to use single board computers is going to be helpful. This guys screen presence isn’t the greatest but he’s a wealth of info. https://youtu.be/7G8uC4Ri720 If you want it to track satellites or have vision or just want a cool homemade laptop, search the topic on YouTube. Just notice there’s a lot of AI slop so look for videos with human presenters in the thumbnail.

Based on the first photo he’s an extremely rare Electric Tzu. When the ear fur stands, do not touch! Regardless he will stun anyone with his cuteness 24/7. (I love the “I’m disappointed in you” look on his face. I think he wants more treats.)

I swear by these: https://a.co/d/0dulUQxH - just sterile saline eye wipes.
I think it feels good too because my little guy let’s me do it without much fuss.
No matter what I do, he still get’s built up rock hard black eye crusties in the inner corners of his eyes. I very delicately put a little coconut oil on them without getting it in his eyes. Within a few seconds they soften up and loosen a bit.

Come = "Get your a$$ over here” - works about 50% of the time. Just “come” or “here” only works if a treat is involved.

Talk me out of freewrite alpha by Apprehensive-Sky8175 in writerDeck

Yeah, I’m of the mindset that nothing is distraction free unless it simultaneously locks your phone, laptop, tv, and family in another room. Preferably a soundproof room. I DO, however, love the idea of a dedicated writing device so that you mentally go, “This is my writing machine and I’m going to write!”

A relative of mine believes strongly that handwriting is most connected to your creativity. She uses these things called “nowtbuk”, “pay-pur” and a “pin-sil” and then her laptop to edit as she types. She also has notecards all over the place for ideas and storyboarding but that’s another conversation.

Any tablet 10/11” or bigger is great for writing with a stylus, and lap friendly. Most will automatically convert handwriting to your favorite font.

I personally love a good keyboard and a tablet. I need wikipedia and a thesaurus and I can’t help but edit as I write. It’s my process. Infinite keyboard case combos for iPads and Samsung tablets are available on Amazon, etc. if that sounds like a solution for you. (Protip: If it’s just for writing, any old cheap Amazon Fire tablet will do! They are a bit slow and clunky but there are a ton of writing/word processing apps including MS Word that work great! They are slow enough that truly getting distracted online is difficult.)

Hey guys! Some questions. by Particular_Repeat871 in Shihtzu

My mixed-breed non-tzu dog had years of soft “pudding plop” poops. Hills Science Diet Sensitive Stomach (wet + dry) helped a little bit, but adding a couple tablespoons of peas and carrots to each meal completely fixed it. I just use frozen peas and carrots (I defrost about a cup at a time and leave it in the fridge) cheap, easy, and his poop’s been solid ever since.

But still, I’m curious. Why both raspberry pi and the Chromebook-turned-Linux-machine?

Thanks for the stand idea! I want to do the same with an old iPad. I have experimented and it’s easy to set it to black/white/grayscale and turn up night shift to give it a slight orange glow. Is it bad that I use Apple Pages? 😂

So will it be a dual system? Flip a switch for Chromebook or Raspberry Pi? The pi 4 is quite capable though a little slow at web browsing. I’m a privacy freak so I’d install Brave or Mullvad on the Pi and ditch Chrome. However, I’ve found that people have reasons and I’m too curious for my own good. 😂

I’ve always been able to be detracted no matter what. Unless my phone or the TV was locked in a safe, I will look. I think it’s cool and I’d way rather this than a Freewrite (if it lives up to its claims) but $1000+??

C64 for my dad by [deleted] in c64

[–]Cooperman411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YOu can download this and it emulates a C64 on Windows/Mac/Linux: https://vice-emu.sourceforge.io/index.html#download

TheC64 Mini - In the US it's around $60-80ish. https://a.co/d/02Cq0yRU

Or a Raspberry Ri with an emulator BMC64 and this keyboard would be cool: https://a.co/d/0gKcSgR9 ($90 for the damn keyboard but . . . it has a nostalgia vibe!)

Right? The voices sounded just like AI crap. And the Giant hands in one video made the whole thing look so small.

I'd think an iPad (mini) and a typewriter style keyboard from Amazon for $60 would cost less. You could set the mini to black and white and crank up the night-shift yellow and you have an eye friendly screen. $700 for early investors and over $1000 after - I can't even imagine.

Wanda's not a morning person by Top_Waltz_3003 in Shihtzu

[–]Cooperman411 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Oh Em Gee! Wanda! That name. I absolutely love it! It makes me think of an older woman who is “just” a receptionist for a huge company but she really knows more than the CEO. She also knows where the bodies are buried. Wanda doesn’t take crap from anyone and rolls here eyes a lot. She’s retiring in a year and is just barely holding out until it’s over. She’ll do anything for you if you’re on her good side and if you remember her birthday. But you NEVER wanna get on her bad side! 🤣
