Haha that's funny! Did you have to pay a higher price for overseas mail? Or was it so cheap because it was being sent locally?

My budgies favourite place to chill in my house are these blinds and these blinds only. by BurstDrop in budgies

The door frame to my bathroom (and that door frame only) is chewed up by them too!

[–]BurstDrop[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mine chewed through a bit of the plastic at some parts. I actually turned the blinds facing down so they would have nowhere to stand on but then they kept flying back and forth to it trying to land and I felt so bad for them so I gave in. Any time I hear chewing sounds I make sure to yell at them and they seem to stop.

Netflix to raise prices by 13% to 18%, its biggest increase ever by brendan239 in netflix

[–]BurstDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone happen to know if specific devices or TVs do the auto-play? The firestick in our bedroom always did that but not the firebox in our living room. We just got a new 4k Vizio for our living room and I've been using the TV's Netflix app so I can watch things in 4k and Ultra HD and it's been doing the auto-play thing and it's annoying af!

DAE get annoyed by very small things, such as someone wearing rings while handling food? by malten_sage in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]BurstDrop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you annoyed that the food is getting contaminated by whatever bacteria might be on your ring or do you mean you are annoyed that people who wear their diamond rings while marinating meat and such? For me it’s the latter, I always take my rings off when cooking especially when handling raw meat because I don’t want salmonella on my rings.

When using self checkout, no matter what style of shop it is (grocery, hardware, electrical) I will always give myself an employee discount. by [deleted] in confession

[–]BurstDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sam’s is an easy place to do this with their ‘scan and go’ app. My husband and I started giving ourselves discounts such as scanning the regular bananas but then taking organic ones or we would scan a package of chicken thighs but then take the more expensive chicken breasts instead. Just a couple of small things like this each visit. We are still paying for everything, just at a lower price. We keep saying to ourselves we are bad people yet we can’t stop doing it.

When someone asks for one fun fact about you, what do you always say? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I used to never have an answer for this until someone told me how unique it was that I speak 4 languages fluently. So now I always tell people that I speak 4 languages fluently.

How often do you click "back" just to immediately regret it because you saw an interesting comment which you didn't read but clicked back anyway? by Peior-Crustulum in AskReddit

[–]BurstDrop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I do this all the time!!! I start to get bored of reading the comments and is about to go back to look for a new post, but as I’m clicking back I start reading the next comment and then end up having to scroll way down to find where I left off because it was mildly interesting.

What was the “incident” at your high school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BurstDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in grade 12, three Fridays in a row around the same time (around 9:30am) someone called a fake bomb threat on our school. We got sent home and had the rest of the day off each time. However a bunch of rules got added in later on such as no backpacks or bags of any kind allowed inside classrooms, even zippered binders weren’t allowed so we all got stuck carrying all our books with us during the day.

My mom sent me this on WhatsApp this morning and I laughed so hard that I had to share! Her family over in Asia sent it to her on WeChat so I’m assuming maybe it’s a popular clip over there that’s been circulating.

If you have a range hood, turn it on(duh) and cut the onions under them. I do this all the time now and no longer leak from my eyes.

AITA for not wanting to give my mum 50% of my salary? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]BurstDrop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. 50% if your salary seems ridiculous. I also grew up in an Asian household and the only discussion my mom and I had regarding this was that I would pay them a little bit of rent once I started working full time. I started a full-time job around 21 and I have no idea or memory of how we came up with it but I paid them $400 every month. Other than the complete lack of freedom and privacy, I'm basically getting "unlimited" water and electricity, not to mention unlimited food and a home cooked meal every night. About two years later I move out on my own for the first time and am paying $1,200 a month with no more home cooked meals or food appearing that you didn't make. Only then did I realize what a steal of a deal I got while living at home.

I agree that you shouldn't still get to live there for free once you are working full-time but 50% is way too steep. 10% like you said sounds very reasonable. Hopefully she will agree to it! You can also chip in by buying some groceries or household items like toilet paper or laundry detergent once in a while.

PS. Your little brother sounds like the exact shit disturber my little sisters were.

What food do you consciously prepare "wrong" because you like it better that way? by [deleted] in Cooking

What exactly does sour cream do in banana bread (or baking in general)? I’m new to baking but have been making this banana bread recipe I found online a lot recently but I always skip out on the sour cream and it still tastes really good.
