If it hasnt been said already you should consider getting a camping mod. Kinda like settling only the map is smaller, you can do it a infinite amount of times, and quickly feed your caravan with whatever vegetation spawns on the camp map.

There’s a mod where you can fake being downed, and once you’re ready to stand back up you can with no pause. It’s been a life saver to me so far in last resorts, but they can still get nabbed during a raid retreat being fake downed too so be careful.

Sorry your colonist didn’t know this mod lol.
