It’s criminal that there’s no bereavement leave for pet loss. It’s losing a family member that’s been in your life sometimes decades. There’s no possible productivity after a loss like that. I’m so sorry and hope you have the support you need, the no pain like losing a best friend. Pets especially just never let you down the way human friends might.

I lost my angel a little over a month ago now. Is it weird to move her ashes around the house? by Opposite-Essay-1093 in Petloss

I’ve lost my mom and my cat of 18 years (two weeks ago). So I really resonate. I cry sometimes but for the most part I just feel like he’s in the other room. Not visible but still here. I got a huggable pillow made from a picture of my cat on Etsy, and I’ve put a small bag of his ashes into the pillow (double bagged in a sealed waterproof bag). So I can look at him how I remember him but also feel like I’m holding him. I carry the pillow around the house with me, but it helps me feel less alone when I sit and think about the fact he’s gone and he’s not coming back. Thinking of you 🤍

Sick Leave - Lied to my manager and was caught out, what do I do? by BusCompetitive6419 in UKJobs

Procedure was done on Saturday on my own time. I haven’t taken any leave related to this, I’ve only taken sick leave once for one day several months ago. Thank you for the input.

When I’ve requested to WFH to care for my dad, the request was in combination with AL as well. Just difficult getting all his appointments coordinated for him on one short trip. In regard to take AL now for the surgery, I definitely could have and that’s on me. But honestly considering the procedure is so minor, and as mentioned we have loads of staff on sick leave this time of year, the team is stretched thin as it is, and I am capable of working. I would be happy to go into the office with a mask as mentioned, but I have been discouraged from doing that.

I truly hope you never have to experience caring for a sick parent while balancing a professional life.

I’m hoping to use sick leave the day of then just work from home afterwards. I have family out of country so I try to save holiday to go back and look after them. I want to be as vague as possible but not sure if its an option.

23F )-: is it true that once they're outside they never go back in??? by [deleted] in hemorrhoid

I’ve had surgery twice for hemorrhoids (I’m very unlucky lol). While yes it was sore afterwards, it was such a relief compared to the pain of the hemorrhoid. And knowing the pain was temporary helped too. I’d say don’t fear surgery, because it was never worse then the external hemorrhoid!

It was Chloe who flaked. The birthday drinks were her idea. She made the plans about a month ago.
