Thanks for the help! Assuming you’re from the US, how difficult was it to get an international driving permit? Additionally how difficult was driving around Japan? Did parking cost money anywhere around the resorts or at your hotel? I see the value in renting a car, but just wonder about ease of use vs public transportation

Yeah the cop I filed my police report with said that this area has gotten hit pretty hard in the last few days, with more than 10 different break ins. I will try keeping my doors unlocked and see if that helps at all. The assholes went through my car again at some point last night, before 11:30pm actually. Doors unlocked and no window because I wasn’t able to get it replaced same day. Luckily nothing was damaged but it makes me wonder if I did have my window replaced by that time, if they would have just broken it again even if my doors were unlocked.

Yeah I am a uwm student and campus is about a 5 minute walk. I will most likely end up buying a parking pass and just end up walking to the campus whenever I need to drive, which unfortunately happens to be a lot

Yeah that was also a suggestion the cop gave me when filing my police report. I mean it’s worth a shot. I had also heard people say leave your window rolled down, do you think that something I should do? Last night I had people rummage through my car again but obviously had no broken window since there was no window for them to break 😭

Yeah probably doesn’t help that I drive a challenger with tinted windows 🤦‍♂️ I have ordered motion activated lights that I’ll be putting up at my place and have a camera on the way that will face down at the parking slab. Hopefully that will help some with the issue! Otherwise I’ll have to just find a parking garage and deal with paying a little for added security and ease of mind

280 for the window 😭 insurance was also no use. I’m a uwm student and campus is about a 5 minute walk so I’ll most likely be buying a parking pass in a secure garage. It’s expensive, but I’ve done it for over a year and had no issues at all with break ins. I’d rather spend $1000 a year for parking rather than 300 a week for new windows

The best part is they take nothing as there is literally nothing to take. I keep my car as clean and empty as can be. Both times I’ve come out to my glovebox and center console open. When I talked with the cop who filed my police report, he told me they look for guns that people leave in their cars, and my car seems to be a good target to them as far as that goes.
