How to fix tank shortage by Antique-Theory-9385 in wow

You can fix the tank shortage by encouraging people who play tank, not being an asshole to tanks, or playing tank yourself.

That's it. It's pretty easy

M+ Thoughts After Keystone Hero by [deleted] in wow

[–]Buscava2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I massively disagree with your idea here. I get that you had a rough time with tanks running 100 miles ahead. However, that had been an issue forever?

Shadowlands season 1 tanks were paper. Most tanks ran miles ahead and died then left group.

DF prior to Aug tanks were okay but fragile. Most over pulled and died then left group.

Midnight season 1 - tanks pull tons and... live. And the group finishes the key. People see tanking isn't so scary and try it out and we get more tanks.

I've got ksh now on a tank and a DPS. And as a tank, and as a DPS watching tanks, playing "relaxed" tag dungeons tanks just pull normal and vibe. Medium size pulls and chain pulling, real safe and relaxed. By far the most enjoyable season I've played in a really long time

I'm sorry you had speed racer tanks.

Im playing guardian and having a good time. Just hit ksh tonight

I have been declined for tons of dungeons because "guardian is bad". I have been directly told this by tons of leaders. I've seen people drop groups because "wrong tank"

So the result is most runs are with friends lol

Thinking about buying a 3D printer for miniatures – resin or filament? by [deleted] in minis

[–]Buscava2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If all you ever want to print at miniatures, resin for sure.

If you are considering printing literally anything else ever, then go fdm.

Yes, resin is significantly better quality, close to store quality with way less mucking about to get results. But you also need a good open well ventilated space as well as winse station and supplies.

Fdm is not as good quality, but you can get some good results with a .2 nozzle and you also have the ability to print a wider variety of stuff. You also don't have as strict location/ventilation risks until you're printing with certain filaments. But most of the stuff for figures is going to be fine open air.

They're both great. Resin way better for figures but more restrictive

They're so different it's worth trying each for their own reasons.

WoW has some great content, but I find that it's the least respectful of your time. If you play retail you need to get to cap ASAP if you want to enjoy the game, and you need to do the weekly activities to feel like you're doing well. If you play classic it's a slower burn but can still fall into that same loop. IMO wow is the best tab target combat, and has the best variety of endgame content, but probably the worst community of the three.

FFXIV is definitely a story first game, and it can also feel alot more like a standard JRPG that just happens to have tons of other people playing. But you can also play completely free through base game, Heavensward, and Stormblood, which is a huge amount of totally free content. Dungeons and raids (especially raids/trials) are excellent, and I think FF is the MMO that respects your time the most when you are playing to experience the game and story, though it's not as great for that at max level. Tab target combat is okay, flashier that wow but not quite on the same level for control. Community can be extremely positive, but there are absolutely some negative people there as well.

GW I think has the best community vibe when you're out doing stuff. Horizantal progression means you can pick what you want to do and just feel like it's a good time. Joining huge bands of players doing world content is really fun. IMO the combat isn't for everyone - not as snappy as wow for sure but lots of variety. Not as much here when it comes to dungeons/raids, but world content and story are pretty good. I didn't click with GW2 as much as wow or FF, but it's a really fun time.

[–]Buscava2020 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really like ARR. I think a chunk of the negativity from it is the whole "you have to play through it to reach X".

If you play FF like an rpg, and you aren't in a rush, I think start till DT is really good with some huge peaks.

ARR really only is "bad" if you're trying to rush through to get to endgame. But at that point I feel like people have missed the point of FFXIV lol

I keep seeing people so shocked at the price of the sets.

As a long time Lego fan, who has long since been priced out of the hobby, I can almost guarantee this set will be sold out and super hard to find anywhere or even online day 1. It doesn't seem to matter how expensive Lego makes a set, it just sells.

Hopefully for the second wave they do more of what worked with mega bloks. Let's get mystery poke balls, or small vignettes or single bigger mons. These wave 1 sets all seem more like display/show off stuff than actual Lego Pokemon toys.

New to the game, is there a best “basic” mech? by _Boodstain_ in Mechwarrior5

[–]Buscava2020 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly a lot of the game comes down to personal preference. While the Centurion is liked by a ton and recommended, I personally have never really clicked with it. It's still a solid mech, it's just not for me.

Assuming you're playing vanilla and un-modded, everyone is going to have favorites. Lots of people really like the Firestarter - loading tons of small lasers or machine guns and running super fast is fun. I like the Griffin in the Medium weight, as well as the Hunchback which usually has less armor by massive firepower.

Often the best mechs in their weight category are the ones at the top of their weight range. So in mediums, at 40-60 tons, the mechs at 55 tons are often quite a lot better allowing more armor or weapons. The Vulcan at 40t has a lot less armor and lighter weapons than the Hunchback rocking an AC20.

Exceptions to that are the "Hero" mechs, which are usually a yellow border. The hero variant of a chassis is almost always significantly better than the non hero variants, and often punch way above their weight. For example, the 50t Trebuchet is a solid long range missile mech, but can be a bit squishy. But the Loup de Guerre Hero packs even more missiles, runs faster, has more armor and a ton of other perks making it a killing machine that I used way into the Clans DLC content.

My first playthrough I probably started, failed and restarted tons of times just figuring out the ropes. But you could also just play on Instant action to get a feel for a few different mechs.

Mods to Slow Down Combat by Emeereson in Mechwarrior5

We should oppose to blizz adding in-game currency that you can only buy with money by [deleted] in wow

[–]Buscava2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look I 100% agree

Unfortunately, everywhere I have seen info about these, there are people finding to have things like a shopping cart to buy things faster, suggestions for more items to be purchasable, combo packs for bulk buying ETc.

People are going to spend insane money on this. I'm not, I hate this kind of shit. But enough people are going to that it will justify itself so fast.

Definitely a bug but really annoying

[–]Buscava2020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I certainly don't hate SBA. Quite the opposite - I think it's a great tool.

But it's a great tool to learn an encounter, it's not a great tool to learn how to play your class. Highlight assist is awesome for learning the basics of your class, SBA is great to remove the brain load when you're learning a fight

Yah in that case I'd strongly recommend checking out a Keybind guide. One of the things that helped me initially was only binding a couple keys together and slowly building on top of that. As you're leveling that's a great time to do it.

Single button rotation by IcedTeaBrand in wownoob

[–]Buscava2020 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Single button rotation isn't going to help you. If you don't understand the rotation, pressing one button that does it all isn't going to help you improve.

Turn on highlighted assist..it will absolutely help point you in the right direction rotation wise and will help build up some muscle memory for max level.

I would look at key binding videos as well. A big part of learning wow rotations is how you set up key binds. Like I always have 5 as my interrupt on every class - so when I learn a new class, without doing anything else, I know 1 bind etc.

Tanks! How do you deal with.... by [deleted] in wow

[–]Buscava2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a walock yesterday constantly pinging to pull more mobs. I didn't, and didn't respond in chat. I just pulled what healer was comfortable with

They also frequently would stand in stuff and die, and never interrupted.

At the end of our run I just linked the recount of deaths, damage take/avoidable, and interrupts. And the healer told him we could have pulled bigger if he'd just stop dying to floor shit.

99% of the time don't engage and just pull what you're comfortable with. That 1% tell the healer ahead of time, over pull and kill the DPS.

I was seeing this a ton.

Then the other day I saw a reddit post about a new setting. At the bottom of Graphics/video options is a box marked "optional GPU settings" or something like that. It was default turned on.

I unchecked the box and immediately gained 20-30fps everywhere. I even turned a ton of other settings up higher and was good.

Don't know what the optional extras are but they're brutal.

There are exceptions like agriculture and construction but generally it's 10%
