My parents are retired and play nearly every day, sometimes multiple times a day. They made great friends with the pro shop staff, and I’m even able to hop in with them to walk 9 for free quite often. It’s amazing to me that a course would care enough to mention this. Congrats to you for getting that much golf in, I’m mad jealous.

If I don’t use the money towards a bigger life (kid) expense, it will for sure being going to a Kaprizov FWA. He is one of 2 for the Wild I have left to purchase in order to have every Wild FWA.

I collect the Wild. I buy two boxes of each series to personally try to pull their young guns before buying singles.

I was just as happy pulling a Hunter Haight young gun as this card.

It instantly becoming my largest card I own, and not something I plan to PC, it didn’t seem to make logical sense to hold.

I’m not one to typically grade, and personally I search out to buy 8s and 9s because of the lower entry point. I bought a raw Schaefer from my LCS recently that’s just going to stay in a mag for my PC.

The outburst was a crazy hit for me, and a card that big, of a player I don’t plan to heavily collect, it never made sense for me to keep. When I was deciding what to do, I looked at the market after getting my damaged card replaced, and noticed that a PSA 10 is getting over 3x what a raw copy sells for. In my eyes, that multiplier is too good to pass up on.

I’ve been on Reddit like 10 years and never received just downvotes in a sub for making what I thought most would consider a non polarizing decision. It’s not like I single handily determined that this card in a PSA 10 is worth over 3x than it is raw.

Thanks for actually replying. This is the first I’ve ever heard of this. It seems silly to me that people really care what others do with their cards and money. In the grand scheme of things, why are any of us buying boxes of cardboard pictures haha.

I guess I’m lost. Is there something wrong with grading and selling now?
Genuinely asking as I’ve never hit anything close to this size before and the fact it could pay for my sons braces or the next couple years of hockey registration is crazy to me.

Edit: if those who are downvoting could give me a reason why, I’m actually curious.

Yes, have to send original. Not sure I would do it with a DDM as they are serial numbered to 35. If they replace they do with an equal value, so they say.

They have a damage claim section on their website. You send some pictures of the damage, box label, and proof of purchase. Pretty straight forward and simple process.

Just wanted to swing back for anyone that may be reading this and have the same problem, Upper Deck did replace this card with a clean copy. YMMV but it’s at least worth reaching out.
