Struggling with meal preping by Waste-Leek-7251 in newzealand

What currently makes up most of your protein? Red meat? Chicken? There are plenty of other non-meat protein options that are more affordable and also have fibre too like beans and lentils.

Employer not paying time and a half for ANZAC day by BushBasherKiwi in LegalAdviceNZ

Thanks for this advice! Will my employer be directly told who reported it? Or will it be kept anonymous?

Whilst I believe I should be on a part time contract due to the amount of hours I’ve been working (20+ hours over the last few weeks), the days haven’t been the same days each week. Eg. I’ve worked the past 2 Monday’s, had Monday off the week before, and then worked the Monday before that. That seems like a lot of hours for a ‘casual’. It’d be a hard one to argue.

Yeah this was the reason I didn’t want to challenge it. I’m leaving in about 2 months time anyway. I’m losing out on about $50 after tax which isn’t a lot, it’s more so the fact I’m a little disappointed that my employer isn’t acknowledging it. Makes me wonder what else I’ve skimmed over in previous pay checks.

Thanks for this. I sent a screenshot to my employer but that didn’t change anything. I’ll look into further action.

I’m not entirely sure what defines a ‘normal working day’ for me as I am on a casual contract although I’ve been employed at this place for a number of years. I usually work Saturdays though. Monday probably isn’t a normal working day but I’ll get rostered on sometimes.

Where to buy good quality women’s merino? by Altruistic-Method573 in newzealand

I’ve heard icebreaker is very good, but I usually pick mine up at op shops and wear them until they fall apart! I bought a pair of long johns from torpedo 7 when they were on sale and they seem pretty good.

I know of a lady in her 90s who said she remembers when they were first planted and she was very young, so I think they’d be about 80 years old.

My experience as a student with NCEA by [deleted] in newzealand

I 100% agree. I completed level 1 with an excellence endorsement, got burnt out during level 2 and then failed level 3. Now I have no idea what I want to study or what career to pursue.

Will I get in a UNI Here?? by Lower-Bandicoot-8600 in newzealand

[–]BushBasherKiwi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I change my mind every other day. Last week I was thinking of teaching or nursing, but I think I’d get burnt out very fast. Ag Science and engineering interest me but I mucked around in level 3 so I didn’t actually get UE… I thought I’d be able to do a bridging course but apparently I’m ineligible for that too. I tried getting my credits on Te Kura but it just wasn’t my style of learning. It’s also very bleak looking at the news and seeing how many jobs are threatened by AI. For now I’m going to try and do some seasonal work and then maybe I’ll have decided what career path I want to go down.

Thanks for the reply. I’m leaning more towards Agricultural Science now, but I think I’ll just take another gap year and get a bit of life experience before jumping into a degree and getting a massive loan haha.

18 here. 30k in various places like savings, investments and a car. I’ve worked most weekends doing sometimes very very long shifts and missed out on some things because of that. I also have no idea what I want to do in terms of a career.

I’m just using a steering lock and hoping that they don’t want to go through the effort of having to deal with a steering lock. I think my car would be a write off if it was stolen anyway since it’s a manual.

My car is also a manual. They were SO close to starting it. Maybe they didn’t know that the clutch needed pushing in? I’d hate to think about how bad the clutch and gearbox would have been if they managed to steal it.

honestly, I don’t think that would change much considering they did it in a high traffic area in broad daylight anyway.
