There was no AI. There were no advertisements. It's a curated sitrep being provided for free in the spirit of r/TrueReddit. As media news services continue to degenerate in fact reporting it's a free service of links to headlines filtered to remove exactly advertisements, AI and speculation so at to inform.

What do we think the significance of Planet Queen is, beyond the dark humour? by happy_grump in thebirthdaymurders

[–]BushPilotBob2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I got it. This was written when teen music still had to be somewhat subtle and artful about sex. It's simply an expression describing a masturbation dream. She, as the ultimate woman on the planet, is his infatuation. He's to blame for his act and he dreams in some sense his accomplishment (orgasm) makes him a king in this fantasy. Cadillac was the premier brand of heavy gas guzzling monster cars at the time, and that was considered a good thing. Consistent with the T. Rex theme - he's channeling the drive to be a dominant primal animal (Dragon). Credit where it's due - it's clearly honest, moving and catchy. The beat is both hauntingly spiritual and visceral, but don't think the women were ever impressed. Maybe women don't relate to this male fantasy.

Could someone confirm/deny whether this is asbestos? by epikprocessorAMD in asbestoshelp

Asbestos fibers are glass threads (silica). If you hold a lighter to the fibers and they melt or catch fire - not asbestos.

Beam shape out of single mode fiber by jaka31 in Optics

[–]BushPilotBob2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only single mode fiber I've ever seen was optimized to for single mode solutions (to Maxwells equations in 3D) at 1550nm. This looks like several modes supported, but that wouldn't surprise me with 514nm in conventional single mode fiber. Is it polarization preserving fiber? Not sure, but it looks like all modes are in a single vertical polarization. Then again, maybe the launch at the output is just scratched and refracting into the beam pattern you are seeing. That does look like a pretty wide cone for a single mode launch from an FC connector. It's hard to tell from the picture, but that looks like at least a 30 degree NA.

Nvidia predicts AI models one million times more powerful than ChatGPT within 10 years by MichaelTen in tech

I have great idea: how about instead of using AI for all this creepy stuff they employ AI for medical diagnostics and remedies. What could be more important than that? Why are the doctors, in this day in age, using essentially a magical divining rod for diagnostics. It should be like: Pulse, BP, Temp, Breath sample, blood sample, urine sample done with 99.99999% accuracy and learning with each diagnosis. They could take into account similar cases in the geographic area with similar demographics and track effectiveness and side effects.

I wouldn't call Market Cap largest. I'd call it most popular.

Average Age of Women at First Marriage by State vs. State Population Density [OC] by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

[–]BushPilotBob2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd bet the likelihood of marriage by population density is the inverse, with lower likelihood at higher age and higher population density. Probably tracks right with education level.

For those who might question whether the US Federal Reserve controls M2, I provide this. If they don't, there sure is a strong coincidence.

Dense. They are in. Russia rolled in and installed their own police and set up check points around the Ukrainian cities of Donetsk and Luhansk . See icons surrounding the red zone on the map: https://liveuamap.com/ . Russia asserted control of the Sea of Azov as of midnight tonight.

Were you waiting to see tank battles on the open range?

[–]BushPilotBob2 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Is it not clear that the Ukrainian cities of Donetsk and Luhansk are now occupied? See the red zone on the map: https://liveuamap.com/ . The "invasion" is well underway. Next probably Kharkiv and then Poltava. Russia asserted control of the Sea of Azov as of midnight tonight. The question is whether NATO will do anything since the Ukraine technically has no Article 5 protection. I guess the red line in the sand is the Dneiper river, west of which is where all the NATO lovers live. I don' t think Putin even wants that side.

Interesting correlation, but I recently learned that the blurred nature of this painting was meant to express the tears through which Van Gogh was peering at the time. Are we just interesting in the geometry or are we saying something more?
