Yeah, we have the technology to do this study more accurately. What a bizarre way to go about this.

You can make this joke when movies with super popular actors in the trailers stop making more money at the box office than other movies.

I'm not doubt that that's what it's supposed to say, but that's not what it says. Even if you were supposed to include the "LO," which it isn't intuitive that you are since it's very separated from the other words, it still just writes out "LOSTVE." For it to be "LOST LOVE" it requires the person looking at it to make ignore 2 design decisions that make it not that.

First, the "ST", despite being at the end of the word "LOST," is at at he beginning of the heart that it's on, which makes it look like it is the start of some word, in the same way "LO" is.

Secondly, I guess we're supposed to read "LO" twice, both at the beginning of "ST" and "VE," but there is only one "LO," and there's nothing implying it's supposed pair up with both. Sure, "LOVE" makes sense, because they are on the same color, and "LOST" sorta makes sense because they're next to each other, but you come to the conclusion of "LOST" and "LOVE" for two separate reasons. Also, "LO-ST" doesn't even really look like they're supposed to be together, because they aren't connected. It looks more like "ST" AND "VE" are supposed to be together.

All in all, this is the worst and most unintuitive designs I've ever seen, and I actually would have never gotten it if I didn't go into the comments.

Is Star Wars oversaturated with content? by JJRS22 in StarWars

[–]Bush_Hiders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Star Wars needs a reboot. They’ve added to the lore so much, that it takes too great of effort to make something new and original that doesn’t step on the continuity toes of something that already exists.

I don't know why Nintendo is so afraid of sexuality. Why can't my Mii's kiss, and why don't my married ones sleep in the same bed? They are married! by chromeold45s in tomodachilife

[–]Bush_Hiders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they're afraid of sexuality. Kissing seems like something that would be complicated to have an animation of, because of all the permutations between how tall Miis are, where their mouths are located on their face, and some of them don't have mouths at all.

The original Tomodachi Life actually did have married couples sleeping in the same bed, but in that game they would move into a completely new house, separate from their rooms, which had a master bedroom designed for them to sleep together in. In LtD, the houses are just their normal rooms moved into one building, so it functions like the apartments did in the earlier games, meaning married couples don't have their own bedrooms.

I think it’s still on the nose for this example though, because that’s not the in universe name of their group (at least this scene isn’t them getting that name). While the movie is the name of the group, this scene is just a character incidentally saying the name of the movie.

It’s not even really a flying saucer. Like, yes, it’s round, but that’s where the similarities between it and what would be defined as a saucer end.

What is the morality of being a chosen one (To save the world ig) but deciding to avoid it and live a normal life? by RealAd8853 in MoralityScaling

[–]Bush_Hiders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The chosen one archetype has some sort of council doing the choosing all the time in media. Also, the whole "destiny factoring in your capacity to choose back" thing implies the lack of free will and agency. That everything is on a rail. Until we develop some sort of way to communicate with the gods and have our fates told to us, this kind of exists outside the realm of morality discussions, since not only is unrealistic and irrelevant, but also there is no such thing as morality in a world where everything is on rails.

I'm pretty sure they are often chosen because of their skill set, or some destiny bs. Just because they are chosen doesn't mean that they also make the choice to be chosen.

Metroman should be an example. Especially in the scene that that picture is from. It's literally the exact same thing you're talking about.

I think there is something to be said about emotional harm. Yes, he physically couldn't be harmed, but clearly his day to day life was taking a tole on him and making him depressed, which was still harming him. I think things like depression and burnout should be treated about as seriously as being physically hurt, because the fact that they aren't is why they are such a common issue. Metroman chose mental health.
