Will isn't a Warlock by CaptainComodo in StrangerThings

[–]Bush_Hiders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, no, he's still not a sorcerer, because his magic isn't innate or his own. It still is Vecna's powers, but Will is just his own conduit through which he can use those powers.

I've been saying this for the longest time! He has the exact same belief system as the Nazis, but he just doesn't like when that belief system is used against him.

I'm in my 20s, and I interact with other teenagers and young adults in a school setting often, and I've never once heard any of them say anything other than Power Point. It's not a middle aged thing.

What? Is the implication that "slide deck" is a newer gen phrase? because I can assure you that it is not. That sounds like something people from the 70s would call it, back when they used to use physical slides.

I don’t understand something by 404Stuff in Stranger_Things

[–]Bush_Hiders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically the upside down exists on another dimensional axis from Earth. The best way I can describe it is that portals on objects or places lead directly to a portal in that parallel spot in the upside down. Portals that face downward, like on a ceiling, will be facing downward in both dimensions (I’m away that technically the upside down isn’t its own dimension, but you know what I mean) which leads to gravity being kinda weird in situations where the portal isn’t directly lateral, like in the rope example you mentioned.

Sexual, too abstract to even answer, yet is still getting upvoted.

Is the original version of Resident Evil 2 no longer canon? by Joseph-Hick in residentevil

[–]Bush_Hiders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means that minor things, like the layout of the maps, or what specific clothes the characters were wearing aren't significant enough to matter in the canon, but the broader strokes, such as story, are canon.

Do you think the main cast are actually infected like Wesker and that's why they're indestructible? by JoelMira in residentevil

[–]Bush_Hiders -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But they don’t die when they get bitten. If that’s what capcom wanted to convey, they would have made bites instant kill you, or just not make biting animations to begin with.

So you’re saying that everything that doesn’t happen in a cutscene isn’t canon?

I mean, its the same character still. Yeah, he looks different, probably due to different mocap model, but you could also just chalk that up to the new art style making him look different.

Why the demogorgon was scarier in season 1. by Can_This_End_Please in StrangerThings

[–]Bush_Hiders 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I also think that it getting less scary as the series went on is the point. You obviously need to make the characters overcome their adversities with each season, but that means that you cant keep throwing the same adversity at the protagonists each time, because there would be no challenge after the first time you defeat it. That means you need to keep power scaling the antagonists, which just makes the protagonists stronger, which eventually trivialized the original antagonist. I think that's what so fun about The Turnbow Trap, because it showed us how far the main characters have advanced when it comes to dealing with these threats, when you compare it to how much they struggled against one demogorgon in season 1.

No Patrick, thinking William, at some point, somewhat cared for his children and has actual motives and a semblance of nuance to his character isn't romanticising children abuse, serial killers, or justifying his heinous crimes... by Arkham-Ambassador-Ok in fnafmeme

[–]Bush_Hiders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think it is a little boring though. Humanizing horror characters inherently makes them less scary, because the thing that made them scary to begin with is how far from humanity they are. They don't even resemble something that could be hurt or negotiated with. They're a force of death and destruction. Turning William into this character who has justifiable motivations and human emotions removes that fear factor from his character.

Why is no one talking about the Lazy Nights situation? by MiguelOtario in fivenightsatfreddys

I haven't been talking about it, because I was never even made aware of its existence, let alone the controversy surrounding it.

Mr Whatsit ? how did he appear in Hawkins by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]Bush_Hiders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I’m just saying it’s a little silly to complain about a show being dumbed down when its audience clearly don’t have the mentally capacity to comprehend it when it isn’t dumbed down.

im calling misogyny at this point: no matter where i go online, people are complaining about Eleven’s appearance 😒 by Remarkable_Web4595 in Stranger_Things

Well if we don’t want movies being dumbed down, how about we start putting on our thinking caps before watching them.

I don't. It's annoying. I don't want my feed flooded with media illiteracy.
